Bruhns led the Nationality Room and Intercultural Exchange Program for nearly 55 years; from 1965 to January 2020. She oversaw the creation of 12 new rooms, including the latest Philippine Room dedicated in June of 2019, and greatly expanded the study abroad scholarship and grant program from 2 to over 50 a year.
