There's no such thing as "long lead times" in print anymore.
We're talking about two different things.
Of course timing is different for current events, news, and time sensitive stuff that's immediate.
Mrs Buffett owns a media business and works on projects all night long so they're ready now and others that take time.
When they plan a cover or feature in a University or company Magazine that's no time sensitive or a current event the process could be three to six months before it's released.
One of our sons was on the cover of his company magazine highlighting his work with the company and one of his hobbies.
From the time he was told he would be on the cover it took five full months, to the publishing and release of issue where he was on the cover. Lot's of time was spent with prep stuff, pictures, more pictures, difference data gathering, different data needed, etc.
My example was a guy featured his company magazine highlighting one of his projects ( not time sensitive) and by the time the Magazine was published a reorg forced him out.
I've noticed similar timeframes for my features in other company and University magazines.
