OT: pittdan77, because I can't send a PM

Not sure why you can't DM (apparently I can't DM you either) but that's great for him. Do they want him to go in directly or through the Prep School?
I think it's directly to the Academy. They didn't say otherwise, but I'll ask today. They want him as a DE or Outside Linebacker.

I think on this site only paid customers have the ability to send messages to other paid customers.

Makes sense.

They usually take 45 kids or so but about half wash out. My biggest piece of advice is to be in super good shape when he gets there (altitude) and try to get a copy of the Contrails book they make you memorize on his visit and start getting familiar with it. Don't be surprised if the other academies come calling. They seem to move in packs.

I will pass that on. Thanks.

The altitude is no joke. I was a District track runner so I was in good shape when I went to USAFA. We did some hiking and shuttle runs early on and I remember kids puking everywhere. I was a good but not a phenomenal athlete...just had been to Colorado a lot with family so I think that made a big difference.

Get your son one of those elevation masks that simulate high altitudes and have him start working out with it. His body will get there pretty fast but it will make a huge difference that first week.

Congratulations!
