I’m still across the pond but newspapers here are printing that the early reviews are astonishing and that everyone was crying. We have tickets for Saturday when I suspect I’ll be totally jet lagged and primed for a good cry. LOL
Going on Friday ... really looking forward to it.I’m still across the pond but newspapers here are printing that the early reviews are astonishing and that everyone was crying. We have tickets for Saturday when I suspect I’ll be totally jet lagged and primed for a good cry. LOL
Not sure if anyone saw this about Ryan Shazier. Appears he's a big fan too.

I laughed seeing the cast mates of Bri Larsen all throwing shade at her in the promotional press interviews. It appears, although not confirmed, that she’s not very well liked. I’m not surprised.More psyched for this film than any in awhile now
I’ve read it runs the emotional gamut
Should be fun
Mark it down this 11 year journey will be looked on with greatness in coming years and yes it’s about superheroes... but they’ve done an amazing job creating this Marvel Universe
Might make 1 billion it’s first weekend. Unreal.I’m still across the pond but newspapers here are printing that the early reviews are astonishing and that everyone was crying. We have tickets for Saturday when I suspect I’ll be totally jet lagged and primed for a good cry. LOL

And she’s the one that will be carrying the banner moving forward.
These guys can make movies, huh?It was unbelievable. Everything you could imagine and more
Not just him and not just this video. It’s everywhere. Granted, It could be like the Steele dossier and another example of circular reporting. That’s why I had a bit of a disclaimer in my post. But the interviews have been pretty awkward at the very least.I mean, I guess? Based on the guy's own comments about his feelings towards Larsen and his previous videos, I think he should probably take it easy before he pulls a muscle from reaching so hard.

They are awkward because they are asked to talk about people they don't really know. Thats a pretty significant problem with an ensemble film as big as this, The actual ENTIRE cast may never really be on set at the exact same time. Some people could easily be in the same movie, have a "scene" together where they "talk" and never actually meet. Even if they are on set at the same time, it may just be a short scene. Not just him and not just this video. It’s everywhere. In Ruffalo's defense, Larson's role in 13 Going on 30 was teeny tiny. I've seen the movie a few times and didn't realize she was in it either LOL.They are awkward because they are asked to talk about people they don't really know. For Bri Larsen in particular, Endgame and Captain Marvel actually filmed at the same time. She did her few scenes in Endgame first, and she actually talked about how she didn't even know she was Captain Marvel the first time she shot a scene as "Captain Marvel" She was just told a line to say.
Chances are the cast was just vaguely familiar with her after maybe a day or 2 of shooting with her. Then asked to talk about her of course its going to get awkward.
Hell, Mark Ruffalo had no idea at all that He and Brie Larsen were actually in a 13 going on 30 together. Its just the way movies work. You can star in a movie and not really share the set with others.
I liked it too. The elements that I didn’t like, albeit minor, had nothing to do with her or her character.Oh for sure. Definitely awkward. I'm sure it's a weird dynamic. There's a core group of actors who have led the franchise and now they're moving into the sunset and accommodating new folks. That's gotta be weird.
For what it's worth, I enjoyed Captain Marvel and I think there's a great deal of potential for Phase 4 going forward and making her a major component.
oh for sure, I'm not criticizing him at all for that, I'm just saying that appearing in a movie together doesn't mean you will ever actually get to work on set with your castmates like it would back when CGI wasn't a thing. In Ruffalo's defense, Larson's role in 13 Going on 30 was teeny tiny. the bosses at Marvel already said they had no intentions of bringing the Xmen into the MCU any time soon. What they didn't mention was the Fantastic Four joining the MCU.One more tangential comment sorta about Larsen, the future of MCU, etc.
I'll be curious to see how the post-Endgame films do. I know there isn't a lot revealed about Phase 4 yet. There is still SO MUCH material they can use for another 10 years of films. But I'll be curious to see if the box office numbers start declining. I wonder how many fans have hung around to see Endgame and will view it as their chance to jump off the super hero film wagon. I'm sure it will spill into annoying arguments about Larsen, SJWs, etc.
I'm optimistic, but who knows.
Give me Adam Warlock and Galactus.
Well, Black Panther is HUGELY popular and I think they have green-lit a Black Widow standalone. Spider-Man always does well and the recast went very smoothly. GOTG is set for their next installment. Captain Marvel also did very well and there will be that follow up, plus chatter that daughter of her friend in the movie (sorry - I don't know the characters name) will also be wrapped into the universe. One more tangential comment sorta about Larsen, the future of MCU, etc.

Yeah. I don’t see the political sideshow impacting box office results. I read a right wing source that implied that part of the Star Wars problems at Disney were due to people being turned off by the progressive agenda. I don’t think I buy into that. Sure there may be some people that are turned off but that number is surely pretty small. The bigger problem was that the stories just weren’t very good. One more tangential comment sorta about Larsen, the future of MCU, etc.

Digressing, but I broke my ankle on Wednesday night. Mr. Pitt-girl is like "how are we going to see the movie on Saturday"? I told him I will crawl in if I have to. I can care less how bad it hurts or that I can barely get around right now. Just get out of my way. I am COMMITTED.
Marvel's going to be around a long, long time.
Now that Disney owns Fox, that means at any point in time, they can just pull the trigger on the Xmen and toss them into the MCU. Then you consider all those properties you just mentioned that already have sequels planned. The options for them are practically limitless.
Personally, as I said above I think they are going to add the Fantastic Four first, (If only because they need a new big Villian and they provide the biggest names left) and after a few years once this Dark Pheonix movie bombs, they are going to add the Xmen into the MCU
Yeah - just a weird series of events. First broken bone. It was kind of shocking when it happened. I am a well known klutz so....Non-contact injury?

Unfortunately, all 22.I’m not into Marvel movies that much. Which films can I/should I watch before I see this film?
Unfortunately, all 22.
You could probably do without the Hulk.
Actually I didn’t see the spider man movie. That’s the only one I think for me. The guardians are a good place to start and now you’d probably enjoy seeing how they are connected to the rest of the series.I’ve seen both guardians of the galaxy and the spider man movies. That’s it
If you want the story of just endgame? You can def skip the hulk. That might be the only one you can 100% skip. If you have an understanding of Thor you can skip the first thor movie, but the 2nd and 3rd are important. Honestly if you already know iron man you can skip his first 2. The first guardians is very important, but the 2nd one not really.I’m not into Marvel movies that much. Which films can I/should I watch before I see this film?
I agree with this, but I would strongly recommend watching all the movies because these particular actors give their own spin to the roles, even if you know the back story. If you want the story of just endgame? That might be it really. All the rest play a decent role in endgame.
Oh absolutely. I'm just going bare bones that dont really contribute to endgame plot itself. Its 48 hours worth of movies, so cutting a couple out can help a little.I agree with this, but I would strongly recommend watching all the movies because these particular actors give their own spin to the roles, even if you know the back story.
My advice if you don't have the time or wherewithal to watch all 22 movies right now (who does) would be to google the story itself and that would give you a good introduction to End Game. But.......for many of us it's not just the story but it's also the performances of the entire repertoire and their intertwining relationships that mean as much or even more.I’m not into Marvel movies that much.
