Somebody 'splain to me again what the hell they do for the B1G?

Aside from one embarrassment after another...They are , just today, making Coach Cheese look like Vince Lombardi.

Anecdotal of course, but having worked around Metro NYC during a fb season...there was NO BOD Y Who gave 2 s***s about RU..
Don't get it in light of what delivery models could turn into in the not too distant future...But then that's why asking youz guys

You said it. They want the NYC market. Other than that, Rutgers brings absolutely nothing to the table for anybody.

The way TV carriage agreements are set up for the conference networks it doesn't matter if anyone in NYC cares about Rutgers. What does matter is that by adding Rutgers the B1G can now claim every house with a TV in Northern NJ and the NYC metro as being within their conference footprint (which the ACC also can do with all of NYC & State with Syracuse if they ever start a network). When these conference networks sit down with Verizon, DirecTV, etc they get more $ per homes with a TV that are within their conference footprint than those say in West Virginia or California where there are no B1G schools. Now the difference between being within the conference footprint and outside of it may only be $.25-.40 per but when times that by 10 million it adds up real quick.

This (along with the existence of the Longhorn Network) is exactly why there is no Big XII Network and likely won't be anyone soon. Outside of Texas there isn't enough population within the conference to make it worth the cost & within the conference footprint is where they have to make the majority of their money because its not a guarantee that your network will even be available to the rest of the country (need only look at the problems the PAC 12 Net has had).
