OT (SIAP): Wonder what tidbits will be revealed starting today . . .

the attack on "big red",will be the jist of the argument you make on jopa. why didn't you do more...why didn't you stop all interaction with "tickle monster" when it became obvious as to what kind of a sicko Jere was. why didn't you kick the shit out of him when you saw what he was doing.

I suspect McQueary will admit the truth-- his job required him to report all criminal matters to Jo like everyone else at psu did. Jo would handle it. Don't you dare follow up and ask questions. It the way things always were there. McQuary must know now is the time to admit it.

All true by the way

Good read because you're starting to see the public face the university has attached to this case, versus what actually happened, coming together.

The article basically says the lawyer claims he never really gave an opinion if PSU was required to report but told them they should to be safe and that he figured the Department of Public Welfare would do the leg work. Excellent example of why lawyers suck but are so good at CYA.

I think what's important here is that this is the basis of the "Joebot" argument. That Joe did all he had to and everyone up the line screwed it up. You're now seeing why PSU has let this lawsuit get to court. They want the defense to do the dirty work of throwing Joe and the gang of three under the bus. Even if nothing surfaces that will hold up in criminal court, the court of public opinion has always mattered the most in this mess.

Really wish some reporter would point out that the timeline being established shows that nobody every stopped to give a darn about the poor kid or even find out if he was okay. Even if nothing criminal actually happened, they were much more worried about their own butts than that of the victim. (Pun intended)

PG article yesterday said that there was a Joe Paterno cutout propped up at a store across the street from the courthouse. Unbelievable --- but not...

Some are making the argument that MM was not retained because he wasn't a good coach. So that raises the question as to why he was elevated from GA to paid coach after witnessing the incident and not reporting to actual law enforcement but to Joe (and Joe testified that he told MM he did the right thing by bringing the concern to JP). So MM was either a good coach who Paterno promoted (and now can't work due to being smeared for not lying to authorities) or he was a bad coach promoted by Paterno in return for his silence. The MM=bad coach argument doesn't pass muster.

I think it is odd that PSU didn't already settle this. They must have known that there is potential for some really damaging testimony to come out. Is this the endgame plan to let this information finally come out and finally put it all behind them to let the "healing begin"?

How does this go if many of the witnesses plead 5th amendment privilege and do not answer? Does that benefit MM as opposed to them just lying about it?

-How is this guy ( big red) making a living?
-How will he ever make a living since he's very recognizable? Where could he possibly coach?
-Are the Nitters funneling him money via their money laundering schemes like the Thon etc.? They make the mob look like amateurs when it comes to laundering money and getting it to athletes compared to the mob getting the money to their associates. If you know what I mean!

I have been told from good sources that Penn State University feels very confident in its position that this is not a Whistle Blowing Case. They contend that the University did not Dismiss MM with any Prejudice, he was simply replaced after a New Coach came on, chose what Coaches & Staffers he would keep, what new coaches were added, and that happens every time a New Coach takes over. MM is saying he was the only one that was not interviewed but so what, he was given his salary contract and then ended? They feel the Jury will come to that conclusion and choose that over any Settlement.

It also sends a message to other Civil Lawsuits Penn State will defend itself aggressively when it feels it is right with solid legal grounds to stand upon, or a reasonable settlement can be reached, if not game on in court.

Nothing has hurt them more publicly than the PMA Case that led and will lead to more Unsealed Documents that they wanted to keep under Seal. Now that is over, no downside in fighting more Civil Lawsuits. The Criminal Cases is out of their hands.

Wise Advice:
Always leave the Court Cases to the Courts and Public Opinion will follow no matter what on many interpretations. Why no need to comment on the specific content, plenty of others will do it, and staying away from speculation, one's own opinion, and how it turns out won't matter, as far as I am concern and follow that advice.

Nothing will decide these Trials or Lawsuits on any Blog, it will always turn on the Record and Media interpret it and endless arguments go back and forth and many ways. I doubt any thing exciting or new revealing will come forth and the same for the coming Criminal Trials, most is known and parameters for Trials will be set, or there will be a Dismissal of Charges, Trial On Stipulations, and Appeals later regardless of the Verdicts!

The Newly Elected PA OAG will decide the Criminal Trial Fate and a current Judge is weighing to Dismiss all remaining Criminal Charges as this case is pending Appeals or resolutions by agreement with the PAOAG.

In the meantime, Penn State University already put in 2012 Reforms that corrected the Penn State University Athletic Integrity Football Era and is in full compliance with all Laws, Rules, Regulations, Self-Policing University Policies on Trustees, Administration, Employees, Coaches, Athletes, Students and Contributors. This is the proof that something was wrong at Penn State on Athletic Integrity and Lack of Institutional Control, and needed corrected and plenty of blame to go around generally but the reforms ends who was responsible without specifics.

I am just glad and proud for Pitt to play Penn State again, and Penn State is a Model of Athletic Integrity Compliance and others can disagree, but that is my take on the good things that have come out of this Scandal.

Anyone making comments adding info is OK too, just see no need to do it, when the Court Record, Advocates, and Media are doing it.

Books, Movies, Documentaries are in the works and will be out in the future and could last over another Decade.
