OT: sitting a player for the conference championship game to save them for the playoffs??

probably sounds unlikely but man, the more i think about it, i really think we'll see a player either sit out a conference championship game, or a coach brings up a fictitious injury, only to save them for the playoff games..


Now this would only be relevant to a big 10 or sec team in the championship game, who knows they'll make the playoffs even if they lose. so that isnt that great of a sample size, but still, it makes sense..


i think a player "opting out" only to play a week later is a bad look so the coach saves him by just making up an injury.
