Watching Hockey Night in Canada it got me thinking what sport venue do you want to see the sport and ones you could careless.

Pro Football:
Places to go:
Heinz Field been to one game love the place
Rose Bowl really a pleasant place with tons of history
Solider Field
Seattle

Place don’t care:
Washington Football team
Met stadium

Baseball:
I been to almost every ball park because of work.
PNC
SF
and everywhere but Fenway

Hockey:
Montreal
Toronto

College Football:
Texas
Oklahoma
Cal

Also what rivalry game? Me UCLA - USC I love they both wear home uniforms

What say you? Please feel free to make it any level any sport.

I will add there is no cooler group of fans then Madison Square Gardens when the Ranger are playing with the Devils or the Islanders

I attended a TB Rays baseball game and it was awful. I can’t stand Nutting, but PNC is a good stadium.

I made a swing through the old classic hockey arenas before they got replaced. The Aud in Buffalo, Maple Leaf Gardens, Montreal Forum, Chicago Stadium, Boston Garden, Joe Louis. The old buildings really had character. Tye building was part of the game experience. The new rinks are fancy and nice, but just don't have that something special.

I’ll pretty much second your list, although I would like to check out Fenway and Wrigley, as well as Lambeau for the NFL. As for rivalries, I’d replace OU/Texas with Army/Navy. That’s one game I want to get to before I die.

For football, Lambeau (I'm a Packers fan). Really, no baseball stadium I want to see outside of PNC. Hockey, I think It would be cool to see hockey in some of the Canadian arenas, mainly Montreal. For college football, I want to get back to Doak Campbell someday. I know they suck now but I grew up going to FSU games as a kid in the 80s. Also, I'd like to attend a football game at Duke. I know the venue sucks but it seems like such a nice, peaceful trip without the hassle of having to find parking, etc... I'd like to see a game at Clemson someday too.

Would have liked to see a bunch of the old NHL arenas and watched the TV Celtics play at the Garden.

I like Duke’s renovated football stadium because if you close your eyes, a fully enclosed Wallace Wade Stadium is roughly what I’d expect Pitt Stadium to look like today had they kept it and gotten rid of the track.

NFL
Been to:
1. Three Rivers Stadium
-Loved it for football, however, some of the sightlines were obstructed and you were pretty far away from the field.
2. Heinz Field
-Great football stadium. Have sat just about everywhere you can in the stadium from sidelines, corners, upper deck, club, and luxury suites. It's all about the game and fan experience.
3. Ford Field
-I'm not a fan of dome stadiums for football, but this is a nice one. Not quite the feel that Heinz Field has and it was quite warm inside the stadium. Still well done.
4. AT&T Stadium
-Very underwhelming for how much hype this place gets. Not great for a football fan. Seats are a mile away from the field and the enormous scoreboard takes away from the atmosphere are you can't see the fans around the stadium. Maybe it's nice if you're in the suites or clubs?
5. Lincoln Financial Field
-Solid stadium. A little bigger than Heinz Field, but the sound system is bad.

Want to go:
-Lambeau Field - For the history.
-SoFi Stadium - Given how many levels, it probably puts fans far from the field, but it looks like a cool place
-U.S. Bank Stadium - Love this design for a dome.
-Lumen Stadium - Great looking stadium and it seems like an incredible fan experience.

MLB
Been to:
1. Three Rivers Stadium
-It was alright for a baseball stadium. Much better for football.
2. PNC Park
-This is what I picture for a baseball stadium. Perfection.
3. Citizens Bank Ballpark
-It may not be one of the elite stadiums in MLB, but is very nice. Good blend of classic and modern and I do like how all of the sports complexes are near each other.
4. New Yankee Stadium
-Grand from the outside, cheap feeling on the inside. I expected a grand, historic feel. I felt none of that walking in.

Want to go:
-Coors Field - I walked around it when I was in Denver, unfortunately, the Rockies were out of town.
-Camden Yards - The stadium we have to thank for many of the beautiful ballparks we have today.
-Petco Park - A great looking stadium.
-T-Mobile Park - An outdoor stadium with a retractable roof, Seattle has two very nice stadiums.
-Oracle Park - There's a reason it is ranked the No. 1 or 2 stadium in baseball.

NHL
Been to:
1. Civic Arena
-The seats and concourses were small, but what an incredible place to watch a game.
2. PPG Paints Arena
-Don't get me wrong, it's nice, just very generic. The concourses feel like a small, no distinguishable architectural feature on the outside, generic PA announcer, generic in-game entertainment, fans are quiet. Three Rivers Stadium, Civic Arena, PNC Park, and Heinz Field all feel Pittsburgh. This is just a building.
3. Joe Louis Arena
-Wow did this place get loud. Legitimately intimidating.

Want to go:
-These places don't intrigue me as much, but probably Capital One Arena to watch the Pens beat the Caps, Little Caesars Arena, Xcel Energy Center, Nationwide Arena, Madison Square Garden.

College
Been to:
1. The Pete
-Great basketball venue.
2. Pitt Stadium
-It was a dump, but it was our dump.
3. Heinz Field
4. Beaver Stadium
-Supersized high school stadium on steroids. No room to sit.
5. Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium
-Cool setting, but felt like a big high school stadium.
6. Mountaineer Field
-Another "bare bones" stadium but a fun place to watch a game. Excellent pregame show.

Want to go:
-Cameron Indoor Stadium
-Ben Hill Griffin Stadium
-Bryant-Denny Stadium
-Folsom Field
-Clemson Memorial Stadium
-Lane Stadium
-Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum
-McLane Stadium
-Michigan Stadium
-Notre Dame Stadium
-Huntington Bank Stadium

Rivalry games:
NFL - Packers-Bears (at Green Bay)
MLB - Yankees-Red Sox (at Boston)
NHL - Canadiens-Maple Leafs (at Montreal)
NBA - Celtics-Lakers
College BB - Duke-UNC (at Duke)
College FB - Alabama-Auburn

Was at the 1963 Army/Navy game at Memorial Stadium in Philly. Great show in a primitive stadium. My gf got the tickets from her Middie brother who tutored Staubach for math.
I want to see a Texas A&M game there and any game with a great Pitt hoops team at the Pete.

I went to the Pitt/Duke BB game before Covid hit. Great environment, history and lore. But only a handful of schools could have it as their game venue and have it looked at as a positive. If Pitt had their arena, it would be used to recruit against them as outdated and old. I wasn’t impressed other than the history.

There actually isn’t much parking near Duke’s football stadium - it’s all Iron Dukes only

I went to Wrigley once, it's really odd, the concourse is like 3 feet wide. very tight, posts obstructing views, the bleachers on the building across the street.

It’s definitely odd, but that’s the thing that intrigues me about it (aside from the history itself). Would like to check out Wrigleyville and experience the oddities.

It's funny, but most venerable sports venues (other than golf courses) are actually dumps when you look beyond their history. Getting to your seats in the upper deck of old Yankee Stadium was like scaling a rock climbing wall, and the restrooms looked like something from a small town bus station. Notre Dame's campus is tremendous, but the actual stadium is nothing special. I think the view of Touchdown Jesus has been obstructed from a lot of seats since the last expansion. We used to take road trips to see teams like the Indians and Orioles in the 70s and while the trips were fun the stadiums were actually awful. But they were much more interesting than Three Rivers, Riverfront or Veterans. It seems like half the old places back then were called Memorial Stadium.

On the other hand, most modern venues have very little mystique about them.

Here are four places that I can think of where the actual building made a positive impression on me:

Camden Yard - I love PNC Park and some other new baseball stadiums like Coors Field are beautiful, but Camden was the first of it's kind and I still think it's the most well done.

Madison Square Garden - Just seems like an interesting setting to me. I'm trying to discount history, but the timeline and pictures around the concourse are part of the infrastructure so it counts in this case.

New Orleans Superdome - I guess I am being swayed by being there for Voodoo Fest on Halloween weekend right after Katrina and experiencing by far the coolest opposing fan base I've ever met. But it was my first indoor football game and the place just seemed huge, loud and awe-inspiring.

Civic Arena - A dump, but I've never gotten over the fact that an arena with a receding roof like that was designed and built in Pittsburgh near 3/4 of a century ago. I was lucky enough to attend several concerts there with the roof open.

wrigley field was pretty cool but a lot of the appeal is the surrounding area, bars, restaurants right outside of wrigley. old yankee stadium was like that as is Camden yards.. on the flip side, the Nats stadium is pretty nice but absolute garbage around it so you go to game and the second the game is over, get the hell to your car or jump on the metro, dont pass go, dont collect 200 bucks, no eye contact, just get home..

notre dame stadium was nice but everything else was a real dissapointment. zero excitement on the tailgate scene, nice campus but boring as hell if you want that college gameday atmosphere. walking thru a student chapel or checking out candles in a cave isnt my idea of a fun pre game..

Dodger stadium was cool but it's on top of an isolated hill, again no pre / post game, just go and get in your car and drive home.

Lol. You're right, but it was interesting to do once. I've been there 5 times, had a brother in law who went there.

I went to the original in Lourdes and didn't even get to see a football (futbol?) game.

West Point in the fall and Chapell Hill through the pine trees to the stadium-to me,everything else is far down the ladder.

Baseball: got the big ones covered.
3 Rivers
PNC
Wrigley
Camden Yards
Fenway Park.
Philly new park

Hockey/Basketball

Civic Arena (also many concerts, roller hockey, arena football, maybe a circus)
PPG
Pete
Fitzgerald
Cameron Indoor
The Palestra (this is my favorite)
UPMC - Robert Morris
The Palumbo (nice place to watch a game)
MSG ( love the place )
Carrier Dome ( saw a Pitt win!)

Football

Heinz
Pitt Stadium
WAllace Wade - Duke
Virginia
Neyland

Akron (nice little stadium)
Navy
New dome in Indy

Been to Franklin Field many times. Old style with pillars blocking sightlines. Zero amenities, but my H.S. won 2 City Champs, there, one in the Palestra (there for dozens of games). Philly is pretty flat, Franklin Field can handle the 6.000 FB crowds, and the 50,000 Jamaicans on holiday there. Really a great T&F atmosphere.
Hell, Chuck Bednarik sat on Jim Taylor to give the Iggles their sole championship.

As far as college football, the best place I ever went to was Navy, Nice 35k seat stadium and the best feature, total lack of security, you could go to your tailgate and get a beer at halftime, don't know if it's still like that, it was 2008. But I love lax security.

no real security needed for a pretty laid back crowd. i was there in 2008 too and it reminded me more of an ivy league football environment than a D1 football game. that's not an insult, just not high level D1 venue.

i took my daughter who was about a week and a 1/2 old and well if you are going to take a new born to a football game, a home navy game is probably your best option..

Whatever it is, I preferred it to D1 places I've been to, like tOSU and WVU.

Ah . . . I take it you've been to the Penn Relays.
Not since I moved to Pgh in 67. Also saw the 1962 NCAA T&F meet. Great fun. Bob Hayes, Earl Young, Paul Drayton, Frank Budd, Adolph Plummer, 12 Irish distance guys in 'Nova wear..... carried 2 clocks to see the splits. Saw 3 FB games there...a Catholic League tie-breaker. and 2 City Champ WINS, 54-0 win over Central and 20-12 over South.
Wish I had been there with the Pitt 2014 win in the biggest relay.
