Aaron Rodgers close?

I love the Slay acquisition.

Fields is gone.

Get out the popcorn.

Who is going to be the QB? If Wilson is out, who’s left. Aaron Rodgers is their best
option 🤣🤣
Maybe they can sign Joe Flacco also. Is Duck Hodges available? Maybe they don’t think QB is an important position.

They really screwed the pooch on this quarterback search. If they wanted Fields, and they apparently offered him a contract a few days ago, why on earth would you wait so long? By the time the finally decided to offer him a contract he was so close to becoming a free agent that there was no downside to him for waiting. Then they went after Darnold, but he preferred Seattle. Now they are talking to Aaron Rodgers. Yeah, sure, that seems like a good idea. And if they don't get him? Daniel Jones? Bring back Russ?

I'm half expecting my phone to ring this evening to gauge my interest.

Somebody send a smoke signal to Duck Hodges and tell him to get out of the tree stand and to someplace with cellular phone service. It could be the difference in resurrecting a professional football career and getting paid to hold up deceased fowl in front of company logos for a couple bucks on Instagram.

Flacco? Now there’s a name I haven’t heard. With what’s left, Rodgers and Russ will be much more expensive and minimally better than Flacco. The Steelers need to tank anyways. We are going to regret not trading TJ watt.

Yeah, I don't get making trades for $150M players when you don't have the most important position in sports remotely solidified. Like, we don't even have a second stringer. It's going to be Joe the Panther Fan vs Terrell Pryor in camp.

They gambled that Fields would signed a new contract and he told them bite me.

If they wanted Field back, and it sure seems like they did, then they had months to make him an offer. To wait until a few days before free agency starts to make an offer was moronic, because at that point the two choices are you make a huge offer that him and his agent think that no one else is going to come close to or he figures well, we've waited this long, we'll wait a few more days and see what kind of other offers we get.

And then someone else makes a better offer than you, and you are stuck digging further into the scrap heap.

Pittsburgh has morphed into the NFL equivalent of Dollar Tree.
I suppose if you have a cool sounding name, you gotta be a great GM.
On the bright side (if you are a Steelers fan) you should end the season with sufficient glue after you sent Wilson and others out to pasture.

Hey, a lot of us wanted them to tank a season to get a high draft pick they could use on a long term solution at quarterback. Maybe that's the strategy they are employing!

Yeah, Kahn is starting to make everyone wish they still had Colbert. It’s not real complicated, you either sign Wilson or Fields BEFORE free agency begins, or you have a solid plan in place if that doesn’t happen. Kahn did neither, it’s reminding me of the cluster f$$k at receiver last year when he never got a number 2 receiver.

Justin Fields is not going to miraculously turn into a good QB. Give me a break.
Would rather have Aaron Rodgers for 1 season while whoever they draft this season or next comes in.
Some people complaining about not having a QB in March just don't have anything else to do with their time.

It's the most important position in the sport and you don't have one in March - it's not like these guys grow on trees. And when you don't have one - and don't have a plan, you do desperate or dumb things. I wouldn't mess with Aaron Rodgers AT ALL!! I would take Daniel Jones or Russell Wilson before that pussy.

It's pretty obvious they are gonna select a QB next season while the draft is in Pittsburgh . Just heard that they are currently going to receive 5 comp picks next season for FA loses this season. Can use those pics to trade up.
Justin Fields is not a QB, he is a RB that throws some.
I mean I am not in love with Rodgers, just glad they didn't sign Fields.

What an embarrassment this franchise has become. Again, they would have been best off just taking the L this year, trading Watt and Minkah, stacking picks, getting cap space, then high 1st rd pick next year and hit 2026 free agency with a gusto.

But no, this precious egomaniacal "never have a losing season" approach is just such an albatross.

How are they not taking an l so far ?
Watt is UFA
Minkah is UFA next season.

I guess you read the same SteelersNow article I just did.

Even bad QBs are spurning the Steelers and Tomlin because they're incompetent ****shows that don't maximize any of the various QB skillsets that have been on the roster in the last 4 years. They're also probably dishonest with players. Tough scene.

Bill Callahan is the OL coach and is something of an NFL legend. I'm assuming they think Moore's ceiling is much higher than what he's shown.

Coaches always think they can fix guys. Sometimes they are right. Other times, not so much.

The Athletic is giving grades to all the big free agent signings. They have done 42 so far. They only gave out one grade worse than a C. Dan Moore got a D.

Which certainly doesn't mean that they are right. But Moore has to really improve just to be average. And if he's average, or even a little better than average, they paid him way too much.

By the way, reports (i.e. rumors) are the Rodgers wants a two year, $90 million deal.

After the Stillers were done laughing, let's hope they told him to check back with them when he came back to reality.
