I moved my schedule around today to try and catch most of the action. Minus the crummy weather Saturday, it was good golf marked by a number of pro's who were in contention at one point or another. In fact multiple times the announcers couldn't keep up with the changing leaderboard. Zach Johnson seems like a decent human being, so I'm happy he prevailed. What the heck happened to Dustin Johnson????

Jordan Spieth was so close to an amazing achievement... The four-putt killed him. Actually the terrible iron shot into the "green" leading to the four-putt killed him...

Go Pitt.

It sucked. Well it didn't suck, but it sucked because it looked like an all time epic and the guys in the playoff lacked the pizzaz. I was hoping for Speith and Day to get into the playoff. Man, at the end these guys just crashed and burned. Adam Scott. Sergio. Phil with the trip, trip, TRIPLE on 17. No one better crashed than Paddy Harrington who bogeyed or double bogeyed 4 of the last 5.

Kind of sucked when the weather turned around there at the end. Man, I was working from home today, if Mickelson made some putts, and didn't triple 17, he could have easily gotten to 14 under. He was nailing every shot.

And he still wouldn't have made the playoff. I was really pulling for Spieth to birdie 18 but it wasn't to be. That putt from the Valley of Sin slid by on the left by a pube.

Yeah and I have to admit this, for whatever reason, I hate Zach Johnson, and I don't like Louie Oostehaizen, so when both Speith and Day missed the playoff, it took a lot of wind of the sails for me.

Why do you hate Zach Johnson? I'm a HUGE Adam Scott fan and have been since he won the Heritage 10? 12? years ago. So when he had that huge brain fart and missed the tap in, I wasn't as intrigued but I was certainly rooting for Spieth. The playoff was just ok for me. The crowd certainly was rooting for Louis.

the playoff was a bit of a bummer,. Not all that fun to see a guy win after he and his opponent both miss make-able birdie putts on the final playoff hole. Good for Johnson though. He earned it. Good tournament all the way around.

Go Pitt.

You were right originally. The 4 putt killed him. That was a really bad tee shot to be sure but to four putt is beyond horrendous. No excuse whatsoever for that.

He also had 6 3 putts. The fact that he was even in contention with a 4 putt and six 3 jacks speaks to just how dam good this kid is. He makes rebound birdies maybe like nobody I've ever seen.

Have no idea why. I just do. Never liked him and always rooted against him. Nothing personal or any reason. Yeah, Scott was like 14 under at one point. Shame, I root for him and Scott winning also has the added bonus of Stevie Williams winning which I know has to frost Tiger's ass.
