OT: This year's Fiesta Bowl is potentially an all-time classic

Clemson by 13 to 17.

Setting up the coolest NC matchup since.....maybe Texas & USC '06.

The big curveball would be OK upsetting LSU, which I cannot fathom happening.

Me either. I just don't think Oklahoma's defense can stop LSU. And LSU will get a few stops against Oklahoma.

I don't remember the last time one of these Big 12 teams beat someone of note in the post-season. Their defenses are just never good enough. Oklahoma is 0-3 against Clemson and the SEC with the average margin of defeat being 12.33. And that's with Kyler Murray scoring 2 garbage time TDs last year.

Ohio State struggled with PSU and OSU. Clemson is on another level.

Clemson 41
OSU 17

I'd pick Clemson if I had to guess, but isn't that logic a little selective? Yes, Ohio State "struggled" (they won both games by double digits) a bit with two top ten teams, one of which they played twice. But Clemson was a successful 2-point conversion away from losing to a 6-6 North Carolina team.

Maybe and maybe not.. time of the season is pretty significant.

why not? Bama's backup QB led them to over 40 points. Ole Miss had over 400 yards rushing and Texas put up big numbers too. The SEC loving national media seem to gloss that over. I can see OU putting up big numbers and shutting down LSU since their defense is improved this year.

Well, Clemson lost to us on their field and STILL won the whole enchilada, and that loss was late in the year. 3 outstanding QB's.....Burrow, Lawrence & Fields....and one only a couple notches below...Hurts.
This should be a terrific playoff.

No because Clemson was sleepwalking. OSU played 2 inferior opponents in their biggest games of the year and it was a ballgame until the end. Clemson doesnt eff around in games like this. Clemson big.

OSU pretty much kicked Penn State's ass if not for some goofy things that happened. I don't think that was even as much of a game as the final score indicated. Any don't the Michigan and first Wisconsin games count? I'm sure they were up way more for Michigan than PSU.

I'd pick Clemson, but I don't know that they're going to blow OSU's doors off by any means.
