This is from this afternoon in Point Breeze. I can't imagine how fast someone had to be going to accomplish this. And how do you go that fast on residential streets??

I thought you were going to say the Greensburg guy who died a few days ago after going through the ice while riding his quad on Deep Creek Lake.
i just heard that story on the news yesterday. Dear lord is that an awful way to go..

I always enjoy a good darwinism award winner post. not sure some dude driving fast in point breeze qualifies though. The one that jumps out at me always was the chinese lady who was with her family in a safari park and she got out of the car to yell at her husband.

a tiger i think snatched her and dragged her off, needless to say, she's not around anymore to give her husband a hard time.. the all time Darwin award winner IMO.

My favorite one is the genius that tied some helium balloons to a chair without any ways to control it and he just kept on going up and up and I think he got himself perished.

damn, now i got to search that one up..

this one is good, another gender reveal that went wrong. the couple hugging and celebrating while the pilot just died is fantastic. i wonder if they still had to pay him or if they did in advance, can they get their money back?

yo, i just googled this, Yeah some dude died in 2024, they found him in an ocean. But some other guy successfully did this in 1981, went as high as 16k feet and shot the balloons down with a bb gun to descend. so he succeeded, that's ridiculous. no clue you could even breath the air that high up.

good lord. this is right up the street from my house i heard the sirens all morning. What did they hit i am so confused by the way the car is cut in half?

Thanks. Always read this things thinking I’d recognize the name of the victim. I never do.
yeah, sad man. crappy way to go.

Not sure i qualify this as a darwin award winner too. who knows though, maybe so. im not taking a freaking utv out on a frozen lake. What sucks even more is it wasnt even the driver (owner of the vehicle), but the passenger. the driver is fine.

bet he feels like a d-bag today..

I mean, I grew up playing hockey on a lake every day after school. A couple times I went through the ice (the lake wasn’t deep). I wouldn’t call that Darwinism worthy. The guy on the ATV picked a different sport.

He was probably drunk and was no different of some dude getting drunk, picking up a skank at a bar, getting aids and dying 4 years later.

We used to play hockey on Presque Isle bay in college. But dammit...it was Erie and a deep lake. Sometimes shallow lakes have more water flow so more uneven ice.

I read that ATVs and UTVs are banned from driving on Deep Creek Lake during the winter. I'm guessing there is a reason for that -- this very reason.

I am not sure if you are being serious about the actual need to ban the use of a vehicle driving on a frozen lake because that's basic common sense. Are they also banned when the lake is unfrozen because if not, someone may try it.
