According to a report, Herman to Texas all but official.
Never did understand Strong to Texas anyway.
Move about an hour and a half south of here. Holgy to Houston. This can only mean one thing...Narduzzi to Houston.
Strong to Pitt??This can only mean one thing...Narduzzi to Houston.

Holgy in Baton rogue - look out.Hey, Holgy continues this run, don't be surprised that LSU becomes interested. He has the exact systems they are looking for from a coach. Or Baylor.

Feel bad for him. Great coach, but Texas was never a fit for him.Never did understand Strong to Texas anyway.
Players check out when they know their coach is on the way out.Texas should be pretty good next year. They should really give Strong one more year to get that thing on track. Houston's season isn't exactly going to be anything to write home about if they get boat-raced by Louisville. What happened Saturday night in Dallas was a disgrace.

That rumor came out at the end, and the media in Houston is a different animal than Utah. Not always, but sometimes that is the case. I pretty sure Urban Meyer's Utah team didn't check out of the Fiesta Bowl.

Herman is a strong coach - young, energetic, etc. But if I'm Texas I need to take a good looooong look at the whole picture. I think his established relationships and ability to recruit regionally is a big plus, but it appears he has lost this team (at the very least the last 2 weeks) which to me is the ultimate red flag. Texas needs a HR hire. I would look more at an established coach of a P5 school with good success annually. No names in particular jump out, but they have the $$$$$ to poach. Perhaps sticking with Strong another year is more prudent. JMO. Glad I'm not in their shoes.Maybe. But this is about more than the SMU game. They looked like crap against Navy &Tulsa too. Coaching turnover is all part of it in this day and age. Maybe the Cougars just aren't that good.
Strong is a good coach, he will have his choice of next jobs
When Strong started at Texas he already had top level talent and landed a top 10 recruiting class the past 2 years, yet his teams often play like they are 2 star talent.
And Kelly to Grand Canyon U the online degree school!Holy to Houston, Dantonio to WVU, Narduzzi to MSU. It all makes sense now.

yeah strong is a good fit at a school like Louisville or Nc state. Decent school, that plays in a conference with FL ties but would struggle to normally recruit the 20 to 100 ranked type kids in FL. Strong will land a few more of those types, which are normally 4 star kids, and then bring in a few of the under the radar types. He will recruit well enough at schools similar to those mentioned above to have a shot at top 25 teams. If Im Strong, I look at ACC or SEC schools. I think he could do scary good at a school like NC State.

I'd be extremely surprised. No chance LSU hires Holgerson.Hey, Holgy continues this run, don't be surprised that LSU becomes interested. He has the exact systems they are looking for from a coach. Or Baylor.
Its a risk for TX, as I said earlier he is only in his second season at a G5 school and others have pointed out a loss to Lou. and he didn't have a great year. He might be a great coach but its a little early for me to think its a HR hire if I am a TX fan. Ideally at places like LSU or TX you would think they could find a guy who has had a run of 4 or 5 years at another P5 school. Maybe not top 10 finishes but top 25 finishes at a school that hasn't been there that often. NC head coach is a good example. Holgy if he has a long run and ends up 10-2 or better could actually have a shot at LSU if they strike out on their top options(which I think they will try for herman and Fisher then go down the list)
Exactly. I'm not feeling all the love for Holgy right now. WVU is having a very good year but they have collapsed 4 years in a row. Even if they keep it together this year, it's one good year out of 5 and suddenly he's a hot commodity? You better wait untill the end of the year before saying Holgy to anywhere.I still see some loses coming up and his record over the years at Wvu isn't great.Hes riding high right now but even the best riders get bucked off sometimes! If he gets a good offer after the year I see him riding off into the Southern Sunset! He like Heather Breech aren't the most liked people down here!
That's actually a very good choice. The last time Texas poached a coach from UNC it worked out pretty well for them. I'd suggest they look in that direction again. Guy's done a lot at a traditional basketball school. Also pretty amazing the talent he's brought in with a cloud hanging over the program's head. Also I'd love LF out of UNC.
