OT - UCLA Decommit - brutal honesty??

why young people shouldn't use twitter. Thats a horrible decision to post that in those words. Show some class. That school offered you a free education, no need to throw them in the trash. Just say I have decided to look into other options.
With Mora as his coach, what are his better options?

It's offensive when people are honest.

Have to make sure to give the appropriate lip service or be bashed.

I have Committed to be De-Committed is honest but it shows poor judgment as well, how he said it was just as important as what he was saying. I have Re-Open my Visits while Appreciation UCLA's letting me consider all my options!

Kind of like how you were not Honest when you would accept Steve Pederson's Failures at Nebraska and later blaming Pitt when he was in charge of both, and you blame the Pitt Fans?

Today, it is Honest to say Steve Pederson is Unemployed as well as saying Pederson Retired but as a Buyout Millionaires for his Failures to build a Top 25 Program at Pitt and his Failures to maintain a Top 25 Program one at Nebraska!

You happen to be wrong but you were never Honest enough to admit it, and now you look silly preaching it!

Just looked this kid up - he is a 3 star with about 5 decent offers. He is playing with fire, and is not big-time enough to be saying stuff like this.

Bad business decision for the kid to be so "honest" in this context. After all, he was fortunate enough to get a free ride to a top school with a good football program, now he's looking for a better deal. Anyone with a brain would be thankful to UCLA and would otherwise stay neutral in that situation. I suspect it's a lot less about his honesty than it is about his stupidity. Four years from now I doubt anyone will have ever heard of him.

No worse than Donald Trump.

Well it's the best thing for ucla. The kid coulda kept the commitment strung them along then decommitted at the last minute. Smarter move for the kid if that played out... but he obviously doesn't look incredibly smart

Screw that. He doesn't owe UCLA a damn thing and you can be absolutely sure UCLA will yank his offer or his scholarship if he goes there should better options arise.

My guess is he received a "better " offer so he has that in hand .

My guess is that he took the UCLA offer as his back-up, but he's since begun to get interest from his "dream" school. But his word choice of 'better options' reeks of bad taste.

For his sake, I hope that his final "better option" choice doesn't have UCLA on its schedule. Some players on UCLA might have long memories.....

That's a good point. These young men are working their butts off weeks before the rest of the students show up. Anyone who has played college sports understands this is a full time job at the very least
Absolutely. But for some players, football is their one & only shot at a college education and away from an otherwise bad life situation.

Not many of these kids' (or their families) are in the position of shelling-out $150-200,000 for a degree from a major university.
