Rose has the 1st rd lead and playing well. You certainly can't count him out now.

From the Cheap Seats; Rose did not strike it very well, but he made just about every putt he hit. Today will be a big day for that threesome. I'd like to see the Barnrat do it, but don't think he can do it for four rounds. He and I have the same fitness instructor.

Kuchar might be only 40 but put some velcro straps on those beige shoes he’s sporting today and he’ll get the senior discount at the movies for sure.

I can’t really believe what I’m seeing from Woodland out there. Guy just won’t drop a shot.

Rose has been equally unbelievable. He’s a tick or 2 above 50% in greens hit in regulation and he’s one behind.

This is true, what Rose is doing is almost unheard of in US Open conditions. Guy is scrambling on almost every hole and still sitting in 2nd.

Full disclosure I have a wager on Rose at 27-1, so maybe I tend to discount how much he’s struggling before he gets to the green.

FTR I still see Koepka at 5-1 at a few places. Most have Rose a slight favorite over Woodland in the +180 range.

Great to see Woodland win it Brooks put the heat on him but he didn’t crack at all. Two really good and classy guys

As I said, the meek shall no longer inherit the golf. The athletes are moving into this sport. Some of the shots Koepka and Woodland were able to hit out of the rough, few could pull off.

Good for Woodland. Big hitter, all accounts good guy, finally broke through. But man, how impressive is Koepka. He is either winning or finishing second in a major ala Tiger, and the field is MUCH stronger now than it was when Tiger was running rampant.
