It's because you can't see the field from that far end of the stadium. They put those bleachers right next to the endzone for seating.
Nice try though.
Been there, very old Stadium they are trying to Upgrade and have taken over the Lease from the City. They still get 75,000+ for most games and sell outs of 90,000 and the Tarps look great for the PAC-12 Logos and one can see the game from every seat in the Stadium. Very similar to Old Pitt Stadium but longer and some of the Luxury Boxes are in that End Zone above the Tarps!

A Terrific Time going to their games, campus is great, and tailgating buffet in Galen Hall basketball forum! Reminds me of how Pitt was from 1973 to 1985!

They have over 50 Four Star Recruits and another 10 Five Star and still lost to Stanford, the fans are mad at Pat Haden and the Coach has had personal problems and going through a Divorce, they need a major change, but they are still recovering from sanctions, but the recruiting will be in the Top Five again!

there was -and maybe still is- a golden panther breakfast buffet in tents outside entrance facing the river. however tailgate buffets are a great idea !!!! pitt is in desperate need of having pre and post game events during football games. the fact that football starting times are totally out of pitt's control hurts making traditional plans for pre and post game events, though.

I'm a huge USC fan. Hopefully Sark gets it together. Too many losses to unranked teams.
Right, but why not just leave the seats open?
Assume it's because at USC those seats are never on sale. Even without those seats the rest ofthe stadium can hold 90,000.

Pac 12 looking soft this season. Thinking no one from that league makes a claim to a playoff spot. Thinking the same applies to the ACC as well.

This is nothing new. USC has been using the end zone tarps like that for several years, ever since they put that temporary bleacher section right behind the end zone. I don't know if that's a new picture or not because I thought they actually were tarping over a few more sections than what that photo shows in the past.

That isn't their stadium either (though the rather sweet lease they brokered with the Coliseum Commission gives them practically all the benefits of ownership).
Yes, own by the City, and like you said the Lease is all theirs for a long time and have money to update it, and right next to Campus, lots of parking.

Actually, some sort of City/State joint powers authority. (Same entity also owns the old LA Sports Arena nearby, which has been rendered a white elephant by the successive construction of The Forum, Staples Center, and USC's own arena, and is thus scheduled to be torn down soon.)

Agree, details no longer important since USC has full control and has big mess on their hands trying to fix it up and make it more modern? Any seats that are lower actually tougher to see the game than higher! One reason why Tarps in the End Zone and they have been moved at times.

I have a Close Friend that has season tickets and they fly and go to every game as their son was a USC Presidential Trustee Scholarship. They go to Notre Dame games in between when USC is not at home, too since their Daughter graduated from there. They are both Pitt Alumni Graduates and give money to Pitt Academics but hated Pederson and left money in the Wills for USC, ND, Football, but only some for Pitt Academics. This is how much Pederson hurt Pitt!

I know Pat Haden and always has been big on Ethics, Rules, Regulations, and advocating Reforms in the NCAA. Pat took over when USC needed him most, and his biggest asset and sometimes problem are USC Big Boosters. He won't go around the rules but Sark let him down big time with Sark Personal Problems very similar to what happen to Petrino at Arkansas and Pitino at ULou??? Many think Arrogance and Pride has gone to Sark's head just like it did to Kiffen! The Pride for the Fall!

How Sark has a poor Defense with so much Talent is beyond reasonable explanations. It is going to get crystal clear right away Sark may be gone sooner not later! USC Fans cannot stand UCLA and there Banter and Hate is as much as WVU-PITT-PSU!

USC Tradition, Revenues, and Winning is simply one of the best in all of College Football and unfortunately so is their History of Sanctions. It is great going to their games, tailgating, and visiting there once a year, just like at Notre Dame!

If UCLA's Jim Mora keeps recruiting and winning and beating USC, they will change Pat and Sark! Count on it!

I actually thought Sark was a home run. Really like his staff. Obviously Wilcox isn't going great right now. Hated Kiffin.
Kiffin was a disaster and is making mistakes at BAMA too!

Sark is a very good coach that can win 9 to 10 games every year, but that is not good enough at USC for any length of time. Sark personal problems will only grow and anyone can see he lacks a good Defensive Staff that lacks the ability to coach his 4 & 5 Star Defensive Players!

Saban's wife wanted to go to Austin and Los Angeles, if those jobs ever come up and offered, it may happen?
