Seriously dude. Sitting one of your best defensemen over the last two months for Maatta? What has Maatta done lately to deserve playing tonight over Johnson? Union mentality.

I like Maatta but Johnson has been solid as hell. Don’t agree with this decision.

Eh coaches do things like that for different reasons. Will see what happens. I dont disagree with you. I'm sure Johnson will be back in the lineup soon enough.

It took 5 minutes for a D man to get injured.
Dumoulin goes to dressing room.
 
Letang blows a tire as well.
Isles outplaying Pens so far.
Gonna be a tough series against a Trotz coached team.
 
Yeah obviously hindsight, but the Pens D is deep enough and the Isles aren't exactly the 85 Oilers that they should have felt the overwhelming need to play Dumoulin if he wasn't fully ready to go. I would have let him rest this game, and if the Pens won, let him sit Friday then play him Sunday.
 
He can only do so much .
The D cant continue to turn the puck over in their own zone all night long and be Murrays fault.

The O and D with our playoff experience will hold there own in this series .
It's up to Murray not to flake out .
 
Why does Murray have to steal games against the Islanders ? We still have Crosby Malkin Kessel right ?
 
You need your goalie to steal games when you have a team that cant score. Malkin is being paid 10 million a year to score.

Yep. I just don’t get it in this case. One can argue that Johnson has been their best defenseman over the last few months. An iron man. I just think it is deflating to sit a guy that has been your rock, especially since the Philly game. Just don’t understand.

Of course, we’re talking about the guy that wanted Cole out of town.

Looks like he earned some of that $10MM. ;) It's always a good sign when Geno is scoring.
 
Digressing, but TB took a commanding 3-0 lead in the first period and it is now all tied up in the 3rd. It would be great if Columbus could squeak this out.
 
Odd that Johnson would be sat. He's had his best year in a out 10 years.

I would have kept playing Blueger. Easy dress over Simon or Wilson imo.

I hate shaking the lines up for game 1. That's a desperate move that you do when down 2-0 in a series.
