Parks of the Past

I can remember a few parks that have closed 1 in Ohio was idora park in Youngstown Ohio someone set the roller coaster on fire and it closed not long after that, then west view park on rt 19 and cascade park in new castle, I enjoy pics of the old parks all around even the ones still running. But never heard of Luna park, interesting

Loved the old beat to sh*t leather booths with the crescent moons inlayed into the leather upholstery.

i seem to recall the leather ripped to shreds in those booths. I was always told that the owner at that time was in too deep with the mob over football bets. He "sold" the bar and left town......

Rainbow Gardens outside McKeesport (White Oak, I think). Pretty sure a shopping center got built on that site.

I grew up in New Castle and went to Cascade Park a lot. The Comet roller coaster had two huge hills that were as good as anything at Kennywood. My parents also took my brother and me to Idora Park a lot because it was only a half hour away. Good times!
