The defense is so bad, so pathetic, its beyond words. I mean its gotten to the point when I am legitimately surprised when the opposing team throws a long pass which falls incomplete. This is one million percent on Narduzzi. He cant play this defense without NFL corners, not against all these spreads. Unless all these young DBs end up being NFL caliber, this defense simply cant work. This isnt the Big Ten. Its not a 3 yards and a cloud of dust league. He is trying to stop the run in a passing league. I really think Narduzzi is going to have to do some soul searching to find out if he can continue to play this defense going forward against spreads.

Tony Gibson, who has one of the best defenses in the country, who held Texas Tech to 17 points (they put up 59 on OU), said you have to play a 3-3-5 against these passing attacks. And it makes sense. College football has changed. you have to take a DL off the field and insert a more athletic DB to defend the pass. Sure, you may give up more rushing yards but you also wouldn't be completely impotent against the pass.

Agree and as I mentioned earlier, the more troubling thing is that Narduzzi is saying he will make no adjustments. Hasn't he seen enough like we all have? When you have mild mannered Palmer criticizing you on national tv and watching the same thing over and over, I don't know, MAYBE it's time for a change in defensive schemes?? Plus he is acting like an absolute maniac on the sidelines.

SMF The world's biggest a$$ clown. Grow up loser. No matter how bad Pitt plays every one on the field has two things you lack. CLASS AND BRAINS. you belong in morganhole and pedo college,

Oh, if it isn't SMF's little brother. Two losers. Longing and hoping for bad things to whine about which makes their hapless useless little meaningless lifes feel so much better. Guess what. You two losers will spend your whole miserable lives being losers.

Opponents should not waste downs on running plays vs. this team, you throw every down, you're bound to complete a 20 yard pass at least one of every 3 tries.

WTF do you do when bad things do happen.... COVER THEM UP? ....NOT TALK ABOUT IT AT ALL? ....JUST POST "YAY TEAM!"

Exactly. I'm not kidding half of these posters would be would be gushing over this team if we went 0-11. How dare we criticize a program that continues to look bad year after year. AND, this supposed defensive genius is making ZERO adjustments even though his DB's are getting torched every freaking play!!! But wait, Pitt is great go go Pitt!!

I'll take Narduzzi's track record as a defensive guru every time over the players Chryst recruited. Not going to really judge Narduzzi until his guys are in the system.

I fully understand that the defense isn't that good, I get the refs made some bad calls, I don't mind the Narduzzi meltdowns on the sidelines, but two things that really bother me is publically blaming the players and absolutely refusing to make in game adjustments when you see what you are doing isn't working. Those two things are inexcusable.

Why can't you blame the players when IT'S THEIR FAULT? Is it never their fault? They need to be held accountable for screwing up, They're BIG BOYS now, not in peewee league anymore.

We have the highest scoring offense in school history. Eventually Narduzzi has to earn his paycheck. His job isnt too difficult. Hold the opponent under 35 points. That's it. If that means doing things differently, he has to do them differently. His defense has cost us 3 games. He, not Chryst, not the players are responsible for allowing all these huge plays.

This is the rare game when both teams should be worried about their HCs afterwards. Narduzzi is showing to be stubborn and bullheaded and maybe to his complete downfall. He has taken a team that could be undefeated and because of his idiotic stubbornness lost 3 games and eliminated themselves from the division race. Meanwhile Fuente held his team back from scoring 60 because he refused to acknowledge they could score anytime they wanted to buy just throwing it up to Ford and Hodges, especially in the redzone. Both the commentators would have been better decision makers for VT and Pitt Thursday night. A complete and utter embarrassment.

Because that's how coaches lose teams and things suddenly go from bad to worse. That's exactly what is happening at Notre Dame..... it's never on Kelly always the players. Now his team has quit on him. There is a time and place to address the kid, not through the media after a gut wrenching loss. Particularly when the failure is based largely on the coaches inability to adjust during the game.

Well I blame both. Most of the secondary should be playing at MAC schools and Narduzzi is to blame for not making adjustments and acting like a nutty maniac on the sidelines. He has been disappointing to say the least.

You have many here like that, would rather click their heels and pretend they are in Kansas , and pretend everything is on the right track. Well it isn't , because he needs better players and his recruiting is very avg

I hate to say this, but Sleepy is proving to be the better head coach , next year will be very telling , at least to me

I mostly agree but I don't like the public meltdowns either.

Matt Canada who some of these same people bitched about is coaching his ass off this season while Narduzzi and Conklin are screwing up

It's 100% fair to criticize Narduzzi. As SMF pointed out in the OP, Pitt is scoring 35 ppg. That's phenomenal and unprecedented at Pitt. We have a defensive-minded coach who puts MAC-level corners on an island all night long against NFL wide receivers without making a single adjustment. He doesn't have to abandon his style of defense totally, but this stubbornness has cost him 3 games, and could've cost him a few others.
