Forgive me (on this board, I know that is hard) for being clueless about athletes being paid a stipend in addition to their scholarship. I don't get it--- Pitt will give athletes $3000+ for expenses and other schools seem to give $4000-$5000 thousand. What safeguards are in place to keep this from getting out of control? Ex. A university paying kids $20,000 a year. Why doesn't the NCAA or each conference make the stipend a uniform amount. It seems that this is going to lead to complete chaos.
