I wanted to get a recruiting thread started on here for the Peach Jam Finals with other recruiting information included.
Mintz will be coming on soon. He is likely going to be matched up against Shaedon Sharpe, who rivals analyst Jamie Shaw said this morning is the frontrunner for the new #1 player in the country for rivals rankings. Sharpe is a big time scorer and likely headed to Kentucky. This is a primetime matchup for Mintz.
Dominick Barlow's offer sheet continues to expand as each day passes. Offers from Miami, Depaul, USC, Xavier, Virginia Tech, Illinois, Seton Hall, Rutgers, Providence, with new interest from Kansas. If his play continues this week as it did the prior week, that offer sheet will further expand. If you were wondering how high his national ranking could climb, 247 ran an article last night suggesting he was a top 3 most underrated player at the EYBL and should have been ranked in the last rankings back in June. A big bump is coming, he is Top 100 caliber.
Im going to further watch Matt Filipowski of the NY Rens this week who's been raking in midmajor offers but not at the Power 6 level. That could change with a strong week. His 2 power 6 offers are Pitt and Illinois. Rick Pitino recently offered.
As I mentioned yesterday in another thread, we have pushed for Bronxville New York's Chisom Okpara to visit. He also plays on the NY Rens with Dominick Barlow and Matt Filipowski. We have been on the shorter side of his list, but Ill repeat he is also strongly looking at the academic route as he already visited Harvard and is looking at Yale among others. We may get a visit after the peach jam.
If you are not familiar with Ryan Dunn yet of the New York Jayhawks, now is the time to get familiar. With offers in the last 2 weeks from Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Marquette, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Minnesota, Cal, Rick Pitino and a number of others, he is one of the hottest prospects rising with his play. And he has produced with stats to back up the hype.
Im currently watching team melo with Bryce Lindsay vs undefeated meanstreets. Lindsay is having a much better game so far than he did the prior 2 games where he was previously benched with 0 points. He has been highly inconsistent in this tournament, maybe the most inconsistent player in the entire tournament. He is very dependent on his 3 point shot. Without it, he becomes quite average. I would monitor him while recruiting better more consistent players. Kam Craft, Xavier commit, can really play.
