The fact that the school brags about not having a rival, or any important games on their schedule would be embarrassing to me, if I were one of their fans.
The very fabric of college football, and sport in general is rivalries and tradition.
They're proud that they have none. Sad.
Maybe they and Rutgers can start dating.

Narduzzi has so many offensive weapons and all that speed I can't see how PSU can stop them.Fanklin showed all his offense last week to score 50 on Wvu's own Terry Bowden.This wasn't too smart because Narduzzi will be ready for Franklin's whole playbook tomorrow.Naduzzi can show the whole world tomorrow's who is the best coach in Pa!The game can jumpstart Pitts's recruits for 2018 and maybe get some decomittments for PSU!
Our biggest weakness is our DEs but they looked solid week 1 - Akron of course but I am looking forward to seeing what you guys can do tomorrow good or bad- need a good measuring stick to see where we are at - I won't lie I'm one of the few who are worried about this- I'm 32 so the rivalry isn't that big with me but I understand it- no one is worried about our offense- they are built to take what's the opponent gives you ( I will miss Moorhead next year) but I don't think anyone really knows what our defense is all about - tomorrow will be the litmus test. I wish you good luck but I hope for a solid victory
DE worry me more so just because of the unknown- they looked great against a mid level MAC team- doesn't mean they will look good against a P5 squad. Unless there are NO major P5 hires next year I think Moorhead takes a head coaching gig somewhere- depending on how Kelly does at ND I could see Moorhead there ? Just my thoughts may mean nothing but I will put it out there
Regardless of how good Moorhead could be as a head coach, Notre Dame is not hiring a coordinator to replace Kelly.
You know what's truly insane about the claim of having no rival? Just think on it's face how stupid it is.... every state has rivalries... Florida schools do... Georgia schools do... Michigan schools do... Iowa... California... tOSU has Michigan... but this manufactured reality perpetuated by an arrogant sob coach- entirely crafted fro his own small attitudes ?? Pffft... you can't make a hundred plus meetings just disappear...
I don't think anyone says that historically we weren't rivals. I think it's a statement of things currently. I mean this series is fun but it's only four games and will only amount to playing 8 out of the last 30 years. The Pitt narrative is PSU killed the series and the PSU narrative is Pitt killed it but I think realistically it was an inevitable function of joining different conferences.
I get it, South Carolina, Clemson still play and Florida, Florida State still play. However, Oklahoma, Nebraska don't play, Texas, Texas A&M don't play.
I don't like not having a true rival anymore, like I said this series is fun, but the reality we don't right now. Our tradional regional rivals are in the ACC (Pitt and Cuse). And the B1G teams already had their rival when we joined the league. There was that attempt to get us and MSU going since they're the undercard rival with UM but that never took root.
I think our best chance is with Maryland. We play every year and recruit the same area. The downside is Maryland doesn't seem to have as passionate of a football fan base that's necessary to drive a rivalry and the series has not been competitive.
If the powers that be stipulate only P5 games for P5 teams then I hope the series does come back and the rivalry is renewed.

There isn't a "narrative" only a sicko who once walked the sideline and was worshipped by the sheep who bought his sanctimonious bullsh!t to blame. That's it, nothing else.

btw) and basically saying the psu fanbase had zero interest in it ---- then we actually play games again and all the fans on both sides are getting totally FIRED-UP.
But she fu&%ed-up, knowing zilch about any Pitt v psu dynamics coming from Cal Berkeley in like 2014 and just dismissing it, being TOTALLY IGNORANT in her comments.
Then we actually play, and BOTH fanbases get HYPED + JACKED + FIRED UP (!), getting to play a REAL RIVAL, ** and we're both Power 5 now which also makes a big evolution in the series.
Well, Trucker-Haircut Barbour made her call a little while back before she ever had any experience whatsoever with a Pitt v. psu match-up, and she killed it ----> Because we don't need "rivals" , no one in our fan-base cares, etc.
