the lead stories for the last two days on national news has been the nitter frat fiasco. sadly, any real campus debate was terminated when classes finished last week, and summer recess started.. by next fall the tragic death of the frat pledge will be pushed away, and essentially forgotten. every citizen in the commonwealth has to be ashamed by the antics being played out in happy valley.

Football team will be ranked preseason top 5 by many......All is well

The have been a national embarrassment for far longer than that!!! Is there a dummy anywhere in the US who can't get into the thirteenth grade somewhere at one of UPS' bastions of stupidity to study how to grow grass or roll a green on a golf course?

Typical Nitters talk after the Sandusky fiasco broke.

What do you think our record will be next football season?
Where will we go for a bowl?
What will our ranking be?

Absolutely no concern for the kids Sandusky abused just concern for the Nitter football program!

Oh come on, all pitt fans are jealous of Success with Honor! No one else cares about pedophilia cover ups or the death of a student other than a jealous Pitt fan

As long as they win in football, nothing else really matters to most people who follow their program.

You may not like this, but....they were involved in the biggest scandal in NCAA history, and the result was nothing was nothing worse than a speed-bump in their football recruiting and their attendance.

I'd guess that less than 50% of adult Pennsylvanians have even heard about their latest tragic event. :(

Sad thing is they have been a middle of the pack program the past 15-20 years. Yet they still sold their soul to the devil for football.

You must be inhaling something! If you are an empire what does that make PITT who beat your ass last season. Ped St lives in a bubble know as creepy valley that the rest of the world laughs at. Now go back to your board

I wasn't using empire as an adjective rather a noun; a fact of the matter as in the Ottoman Empire (the Penn State Football Empire).

I opened up my SI and this was on page 22

SIGN OF THE APOCALYPSE
Jay Paterno, Joe's son and an assistant coach during the Sandusky era, was elected to the Penn State Board of Trustees.

Is there a limit to how much a state funded entity like Nitter U can cost the taxpayers??
This in addition to the Sandusky thing is going to add up to hugh dollars?
They keep f'ing up with miminal penalties!
HOW MUCH IS TO MUCH!

It's significant to everyone except, of course, the legion of Branch Josephians, that it isn't even referred to as the Paterno era, but the SANDUSKY era.

I'd go with Branch Joevidians...rolls off the tongue much easier and closer to davidians...like it though, may I use it? cannot believe we have not had a "name the cult" post here yet .

I think "Joebots" has been the most commonly used moniker.
ah, but Joebot has no cult connotations...no, I'm liking were you were originally going there....fresh. Plenty of cults to play with too (Sheeples Temple Joestown, etc).... Isn't May football talk grand?
