Penn State Game Day Prediction:
Penn State was able to barely comeback from the Ohio State blowout loss by barely beating Maryland with an Interim Coach. The best that can be said is the Lions are inconsistent and only winning against Bad to Average Teams. In some games, they have a running game, in others a passing game, but have yet to put both together in one game to be a complete Team? The Defense plays inconsistent in games too. The Lions outright stink at Special Teams even with all the young talent Franklin has recruited but cannot coach up the Team. Illinois is not a Bad Team but not much above average either. Illinois and their QB cannot run. Illinois lives and dies on the pass. Unbelievably Penn State is still in the Big Ten Run Off to win the Big Ten. No one is taking that seriously though and nor should they? Christian Hackenberg is playing better in spite of his coaches and getting beat up, and this may be a bad day for him. Illinois can defend, sack, and rush him like Temple, Ohio State did, because Illini Backfield is pretty darn good. Illinois passed against everyone except North Carolina, so this is a good comparison test with Pitt Team. The problem Illinois is playing at Beaver Stadium and although they won last year, in a close game, they can lose this one in closer game.

I agree...not sure this is the right board for this discussion.

Agree that this thread has no business here - I only opened it because I saw a portion of an Illinois game earlier this season and I thought they looked like one of the worst teams in college football.

I'll be surprised if UPS doesn't win by at least a couple of touchdowns.

Go Pitt.

They may break the record for playing teams with interim or suspended coaches in one season.

Tough game to call....Illinois is one of those teams constantly searching for an identity. Sound familiar? The firing of their coach before the season actually galvanized the team and they have played up to their potential.
PSU plays to the level of their foes it seems.....thye played OSU tough I thought and the 28 point spread was a bit deceiving...but just a bit.
I see a close game into the 4th quarter but have to go with the Nits 24-15.

We played Ohio state plus you know who there coach is so you need facts.
Franklin played them the toughest last year except for VT, now they lost Barrett to a DUI? The thing to watch now is how how Penn State plays against NW, MSU, and Michigan. If Franklin can beat 1 or 2, you have great season coming up in 2016, if not, all wait & see?

The same for Pitt against ND, Duke, ULou, and Miami? Coach Pat & Staff have to win 3 too, in my opinion. If not, We shall see too? Plus Pitt must improve Recruiting and Penn State has done that already!
