Penn state is Appalachian State nothing more

Too all PSU fan's who are on a Pitt board for some reason. Two things,1) that was not a horse collar, so that was a gift. 2) I have seen D1 Receivers drop passes, I have seen them mistime passes. I have never seen a ball hit a WR in any level of football on the face mask. The WR was being interfered with. Does OSU then make a play and score I don't know, but I do know that the 4th qtr was horribly officiated in PSU's favor. And I am not one of those blame it on the Ref type of guys.

UPS has recruited well. Stop with the complaining about sanctions

Top players stayed, Obrien and Franklin recruited well, so the sanctions were almost a non event except for bowl games.

Teams like PITT that shot themselves in both feet when bad AD's made terrible coaching replacement decisions have larger rooster/depth issues than the Nitters.

The Ntters played hard Saturday, OSU didn't, Nitters got some breaks and capitalized, OSU didn't, the officials made a big mistake on the interferce call, the Nitters got lucky OSU didn't.

But my motto is The Harder You Work the Luckier You Get.

That is and was the story Saturday night!

Meyer and his OSU team should be embrassed with their performance!

OK there TM. If that's what you want to believe, you go for it.
I just know there were a helluva lot of Pitt fans who caught their collective breath when that ball went off that kid's hands.

who won the game?

HAHA... except when it happens against you??

Look, Pitt had FARRRRRR more opportunities to score against your sad team than you did against Pitt. Anyone watching that game knows it should have been a 20 point Pitt win. We won, against PSU... we are the better team. Bottom line
Pitt was the better team....by 3 pts.

Honestly, the sanctions hurt & assured them of a very low ceiling for 4 or 5 years. PSU also sanctioned themselves from 2000-2011 by not forcing JoePa to step aside. Somewhere along the line, they made the dumbass decision that letting him chase the win record & giving him a farewell decade was more important than winning football games.

Agree, give credit where credit is due, tough times and many changes at PSU and still going on in Athletics. It is a Great University and recognizes not all went right all the time there and branding others like Joe did at times was not a good policy that came back on him, and shame PSU Name by him refusing to abide by Higher Ups, to be fair. Won't happen again.

Pitt cannot run away from its own mistakes in hiring and did as well as expected for not keeping up after 1938, 1960, and 1989.and the struggle just to go back to winning in being the Big East in 2000s. But Pitt was invited into the ACC and those that did it deserve praise. Now Pitt must rebuild its Program with Budgets it can afford now.

I agree, but PSU earned it like you said too. Franklin & Staff gets credit too! This about the time the Joe Moorhead Offense created at "Pitt Think Tank" should come into becoming a standard great offense by the 7th and 9th games. He did the same at Fordham about this time, UConn too!

Meyer and his OSU team should be embrassed with their performance!
Hope and expect it won't happen to Coach Narduzzi, it is about time Pitt beat a ranked Team too! But Pitt is rebuilding its entire Program that WVU & PSU aleardy had for the last 5 years. It will get done!

Very well put, JoePA got selfish wanting to stay far past his time, wanted that 409 no matter what he says, and got sloppy not allowing the University as required to control his Players as Students as required by Title IX, Clery Act, Athletic Integrity Agreement, No Code of Conduct, Cooperation with Judicial Affairs, and Outside Investigations, and even reporting his Salary as required by Law. This was Lack of Institutional Control over Joe and Joe was not beating Big Ten Teams like he was in first few years. This is what upset most other FB fans about Penn State Fans.

Joe thought just graduating his Players was good enough and he did not do that ever at 100% Rate but often at 90%, 70%, and about 9 years below both too. Joe Negatively branded other Universities and Coaches as well while being hypocritical when he was caught not following all the Rules and the NCAA did not investigate him as they should have or this would have been discovered way back in 1970s.

Yet, I can separate Joe's Great Coaching, Charity, and Vision to build his Program, from mistakes he made and the University that allow him to not be under control and that 409 cost Penn State by shaming their name. O'Brien & Franklin were under different Ethical, Athletic Integrity Compliance, and NCAA Rules requirements standards than Joe!

Somewhere along the line, they made the dumbass decision that letting him chase the win record & giving him a farewell decade was more important than winning football games.
When he refused to retire in 2004, he should have been fired but all of Penn State Higher Ups were all frighten and it was done only after the week he won 409? Now that the PMA Unseal Documents are out, his legacy is ruined in his own hindsight.

Good Post Buff!
