Game Day Prediction
Everyone thinks Penn State cannot beat a Top Winning team, but last week they put it all together on QB, Running, Passing and Defense. Only the Special Teams stink. NW and PSU both have Offenses that are unreliable, but Penn State has been getting better lately. I am going with that trend that the Nittany Lions are getting better after 20+ games of Franklin’s Coaching. I am going further by staying with my Preseason Prediction that Penn State can win big by 20 points or more? Penn state has way more talent than Illinois and beat them 39-0 and Northwestern has even less. If Franklin loses to Northwestern away, no question his coaching is not just suspect but actually poor. Penn state should beat the Wildcats easily anywhere? The experts are calling for a closer game but not me!

I know but still going with my Hunch! I appreciate your Advice and Info and all the Experts are saying the same thing. The problem is bot Offense can go south or north in no time. I don't know which and when, and I feel Penn State has been making progress on Running, Passing, and QB Play better than NW, just a Hunch.

Whether Franklin can coach these Players up and away from Beaver is the biggest question now? I am betting Penn State better skill Players and NW Players will be coach better? Hard call to make right now?

My son is a freshman at Northwestern, and I'm in town for parents weekend. I'll be at the game, wearing my NW hat. Oh, and my blue and bright yellow lettering Pitt Script hooded sweater.
This game could go a couple of different ways. I haven't seen PSU look good on the road yet, so we will see if they can follow up last week home game with any kind of road game performance.
I'm going with NW 27, PSU 21.

How bout Lavar the star ? I remember a friend declaring "roidrage" after the Greg DeBolt bullshit in 1999....I also remember Paterno quoted as saying he "didn't see the play" in the paper afterwards ...but as we know he was good for that

come on, there is no need to smear the kid. Nassib is doing what he is doing largely because of the benefit of having Zettle and Johnson taking the double teams on the inside. He also has freakishly long arms and this is his 5th year in the program which gave him the time to add muscle to his frame.

One my Nephews went there and went onto John Hopkins for PHD/MD Program. I visited there many times and it is was Great Private University right on the Lake!

Penn State Program brings 3,000 Recruits from 8th to 12th Grade every summer.The talent is way better!

NW has a Great Coach that teaches his Players to execute as a Team?

LaVar Arrington was such a ridiculously good football player it wasn't even fair. He was also the dirtiest thug to ever step foot on a football field. I still wonder if that FG in '99 is made if the ref had any balls at all and correctly ejected him.

As for the game. Franklin is 1-11 as a head coach vs top 25. Also PSU has only played on true road game this season (can you imagine the Steelers starting their season with 6 home games, 1 road game and two neutral site road games? For some reason this is ok it college football. Irregardless, PSU has not proven they can complete away from Beaver Stadium, unless you count the neutral site game against Maryland and the 1 point victory against a coach who had a 2-26 record.

For those reasons I think picking Northwestern, even with the difference in Rival star talent, is the safe bet.

Penn State fans are the poster children of false accusations and ripping college kids. But I forgot, you're all victims. Why are we ripping on Penn State instead of praying for them? Well, sorry to say Jake - you WERE favored to win by gametime. So not only has Franklin been unable to win any games as the underdog the last 2 years, you've lost 2 this year as the favorites.

Well said, but does does apply to all PSU Fans but far too many that have turned on Penn State University, and are an embarrassment to CFB. Much as Joe ended the Pitt Series and put his ego ahead of what was good for the game!

Joe Paterno cried about his legacy being ruined after he bad mouthed many people, programs and other universities and then found out he hired and tolerated a coach that belong in prison, was not obeying all the rules, and ended up embarrassing his Family, University and all of CFB not just the Penn State Program!

These are the Penn State Cultists that followed Paterno behavior and cannot accept that kind of Culture was corrupt within and emulate his bad behavior to this very day!
