People need to get their Arses to Heinz on Thursday

Unfortunately it may be raining for 2 straight days. Fingers crossed forecast changes. We need a FULL house with a rocking student section.

I would love to...but I work 6am-2pm then come back in 8 hours later to work 10-6am

I will be there on Thursday and just bought my tickets for Duke. PITT needs to have a real home field advantage this Thursday

Can't be there on weekdays, just can't. But I sold my seats cheap to good friends of George Astons family.

Won't happen. It sucks total balls. But we will be lucky to get 35 K...way too sad. I will start tailgating around 4pm, and would love to have thousands with me...but I know better...H2P!!!

Yinzers like to call themselves the best sports fans in the USA, well this is Pittsburgh's opportunity to show the entire viewing nation just how accurate that statement is. Yinzers didn't come because the Pitt wasn't entertaining enough for them, they didn't come because Pitt wasn't playing a good team, they didn't come because they Pitt wasn't winning...well, Pittsburgh that is no longer the case.
If this was a steelers game, there would be 66,000 drunk yinzers there, rain or no rain.
Show up and support the only NCAA D-I football program in the area. Show up and support the kids that CHOOSE to play here not those who play here because they are being paid to play

This will be good test for all the "win and they'll come" posters

A Thursday night game? Not really, unless you mean to compare the crowd size to the size of the crowds we've had for some of our other weeknight games. For instance the 20,000 we jammed in their for the Navy game or the 15,000 we squashed into the place for the UConn game.

I've invited about 10 people so far to take advantage of the 6 dollar tickets on stub hub.

I would love to see 50K, but that won't happen, I would however hope that we get about 40-45K there with the fact it is a fairly big game.

I have more people than usual hitting me up for tickets. I would think we can get in the 40k range as long as the weather is ok

There's no way they could have known Pitt would be 6-1 going into this game but the athletic department needs to go all-out and then some the next four days marketing this game. Get people around the city and surrounding counties to check Pitt football out who don't necessarily follow the team. Hey Pitt is 6-1 and they've got cheap tickets to this game which is a big game from what I've heard, let's go check em out. Those are the butts Pitt needs to get into seats. And then win of course if you don't those people won't come back for a while if ever.

Ill be there tailgateing around 430 and bringing 3 buddys with me. I realy do hope pitt pushes hard for ticket sales. Get on other raido stations besides the fan , get some hype going

Agree with most posts here. Winning is going to bring more fans easily, not on a Thursday night though. Historically we have not drawn well at Heinz on weekdays, maybe even further back than that. Notre Dame game should be packed, even though I believe there are still a good bit of tickets remaining. I'd be surprised if those aren't bought up soon though, even if it's not until after the UNC game.

I was at the Navy game, cold and started to rain. The U Conn game the weather was not fit to play in let alone sit in the seats, cold and rain that turned to sleet. Ray Graham blew out his knee in that game. I knew looking at the crowd that the Fraud was not long for PITT.

Pretty sad. Every year they've come to Heinz it's been a good crowd. I'd think this year should be one of the best attended, but looking bleak so far.
Have faith. The crowd will be great.

I will be there as I'd guess most on here will. I'm hoping to see a lot of Pitt fans, the Irish fans are usually a nice bunch, but can get rather annoying.

Notre Dame fans that actually went to Notre Dame are generally great. Notre Dame fans who couldn't locate South Bend on a map to save their lives are generally, well, let's just say not and leave it at that.

Great point. I've met a lot of really great Notre Dame fans at Heinz Field. The people with Irish accents that dress like leprechauns I can't even take seriously when they say anything about football.

It looks like maybe 4-5k remain.. It will be in the 60s.. Remember.. we added 4,000 seats.

unfortunately will not be able to attend UNC game this week as I live in Philly. Will sell three seats with parking pass section 135 ( 45 yard line) home side row BB for $150 for package and getting seats on time. If interested email me at spitdoc@aol.com

I don't even like football in person but I'd be at this game if I could if I wasn't 5 hrs away and had a work dinner that evening. At least I'll see TV. Will be wearing my most prized Pitt artifact that day - a game button from the historic Grier Pitt-GaTech bowl game to shown the flag.

BTW I know a potential huge donor who hated the previous administration who's attending. It'll be his first game since the Foge Fazio years.

What would Stanford, Minnesota, or Baylor draw for a similar game? We'll get 45K maybe, just like them. We have a small fanbase for P5 standards. There arent an extra 25K Pitt fans who are going to go to a weeknight game. Especially not with the Penguins playing 1/84 of their regular season across town.

People just have to realize we are a 45K max fanbase. If the other team brings a lot of fans, we'll draw more.

i expect an average turnout for non students but I'm hoping and expecting that the students show up big time and create a good environment for the team. I'm going to say 45k but students making up a heavier proportion of that total than usual. But maybe I'm wrong and I'll be overwhelmed by the attendance for Thursday night? I hope so but experience has taught me to temper expectations. This team needs a few years of exceeding expectations before it truly starts to expand the fan base.

Right I think it'll be like homecoming, a big student turnout with a weak turnout from the regulars.

Agreed. If this game was being played on a Saturday then I think we get 50k, Thursday nights for most Steeler games don't even fill ip(at least from what my eyes can see from TV) keep winning and the fan base will slowly grow for Pitt.
