Per Matt Stallings offered BK a position

As much as I want Knight to stay, he needs to leave at some point to advance his career, IMO.

That is the general consensus and I agree. Matt said the other day BK has been loyal to Pitt to a fault already. Had he spread his wings his career could be a lot further along.

In basketball, head coaches land recruits more than assistants. In football you have 25 recruits per year, so assistants have more impact, but in basketball, you only have 3-4 per year. So while assistants build relationships, players commit to head coaches, not assistants.

Do u think Khem Birch came to Pitt because of Dixon? How about Manigault this year?

This narrative holds no water to me.
Why wouldn't Dixon or any coach want as much talent as possible?

Matt did say Knight's hands were tied.

We all know Jamie didn't cheat. And I say that because when I read some stuff on his timeline and saw some other information I got the impression that Dixon wouldn't even allow guys to toe the line. And maybe not even go anywhere near the line. We all know this is a dirty business but it seems - at least to me - Jamie wanted to be squeaky clean.

And again that's only my impression/interpretation. I could be way off.

So Dixon wasn't holding back on those?
I can't keep up
Those guys, along with many others came here because of their relationship with the assistant coach. I get it - you are mad at the hire and want to argue. I am in no mood to get into a pissing match.

Generally agree. But let's just say for example - and hypothetically - some kid has a handler. Maybe Dixon doesn't even allow the assistant to get involved with said handler even if there's no violations.

I'm only pointing out you are taking both positions at once.
Was Dixon tying hands or can assistants close themselves?

Actually staying here under a different HC is like leaving to go to another program without having to uproot himself from Pittsburgh

I mean, I assume Knight sticks around if given a reasonable boost from his current pay. You know, sweeten the pot. Regardless, seems a bit odd. I assumed Stallings would simply bring in a new staff.

He might have to swallow a demotion. BK is nothing, if not ultra-competitive. If it's just a move by Stallings to keep the roster intact, he might get bounced next year. Tough decision for him.

The only reason to keep BK is to retain the two recruits.
If the recruits are leaving PITT Stallings should let BK go and bring in new coaching talent.

This is unbelievable that a U like PITT could F this up this bad. Things better start to look up or people are going to so pis-ed off there'll be no fixing things!
My wife and I are so angry (even angrier than last night) we drive 5 hr to go to home football games, and some bball games. We spend a ton of money ( no to mention donations) just for travel, rooms, food, etc. just to support PITT and they do this stuff!

No more bball and I'm close to asking for my seat money ( 8 seats) back for football until this U shows me something.
