Duke game moved Duke to KenPom #1.

It only moved Pitt down from KenPom #22 to KenPom #25.

Also, previously undefeated Tennessee, lost by 30 last night to Florida and only dropped to KenPom #6.

After falling behind 23-14, Pitt played Duke even for the next 20 minutes (35-33). This should have been a 15 point loss which wouldn’t have been great but nothing like the final score indicated. The last 8 minutes were inexplicable.

Unfortunately, they count just the same. Basketball has always been a game of runs. We've been known to come out and play with our food a good bit before breaking away in the second half. The Sam Houston State game was close for a while.

I hope you're right and that this 20% of the game was some type of aberration or whatnot.

We're not at full strength. Dunn missed six weeks, we'll know more in a couple games, imo.

He still played 21 minutes. I doubt there are many teams who aren't dealing with, or haven't dealt with, some type injury at this point in the season. I think Dunn has kind of been given the backup quarterback treatment from fans. They did the same thing with Ithiel Horton. Not saying we're not better with him than without him; I just think there's a limitation to that. I don't think he's some magic piece that makes us exponentially better.

Who didn’t know Pitt would lose? Duke is Duke and we aren’t who we need to be yet. It’s been the case the last three seasons after Jeff figured it out recruiting under the portal. We play this game six weeks from now it’s a different outcome. Probably still a loss but closer.

Maybe it is; maybe it isn't. It's not like Duke isn't a young team that will likely be improving. They whipped us by about the same amount in March the only year Capel made the Tournament.

He is a starter, a shutdown defender, our top 3pt shooter and was our third leading scorer when he went out.

If you think he's the same as Horton, you're wrong. If you think when healthy he doesn't make us exponentially better, I don't know what to tell you.

I didn't say he wasn't better than Horton. But pretending like a dude who came pretty close to his season averages anyway would have made a big difference in a 30-point game if he was a little healthier... I mean, lol.

His minute averages are skewed due to the LSU and Wisky games. If you think he doesn't make more of a difference, you're wrong.

Do they win, nope. Is it more competitive, yep.
