This kid is one tough SOB. He was getting hit all day and never missed a down. On some plays he was crushed by the Clemson D but kept looking to see if he completed the pass. Great performance.
NP has played with this same attitude all year. His numbers may not have been there and drops have been a factor, but I'm really glad NP got a chance to have success on this stage (much deserved).
With some of the qb play we've seen around here since Palko left, I'm quite satisfied with Peterman. Is he a National Championship caliber qb? No, but we're not a National Championship caliber team, so we can live with that.
He was shaky at times in the second half and missed some easy throws down the stretch but overall he played very well. It's an overlooked detail but he deserves a ton of credit for the way he runs this very complicated offense that Canada has put in. There are a ton of moving parts, there's a lot of deception and misdirection, and it requires expert ballhandling by the QB. Nate has ran it smoothly all year and was at his very best with ballhandling and decision making yesterday. He showed a lot yesterday and the team couldn't have done it without him.
We are going to sorely miss Peterman next season...as much as I think we have all categorized him as a game manager and very average, I think last night proved he is more than that...I just hope the athleticism of MacV will overcome his greenness in 2017.
