I happened to watch Ch.11 news last night and their sports coverage was virtually all Penguins coverage. They spent about 10 seconds on the Pitt bball game and then simply mentioned the score of the WVU game. I don't consider that "sports" coverage. They are virtually a commercial for Penguin hockey and not a true sports program. Channels 4 and 2 are much better insofar as attempting to cover something aside from the Penguins and looking for "Stillar" stories even though their season is over. nothing about other ACC games and/or NBA. The provincialism of Pgh sports coverage both print and electronic is unfortunate for the true sports fan. Thank goodness for ESPN

I'd be shocked to hear an NBA story on the local news. Just rarely happens. As for college basketball, until March they probably will just mention Pitt and WVU. They would mention PSU as well, but their own alumni don't even know they have a hoops team. I do agree though, Channels 2 and 4 are quite a bit better at covering all the teams.

It is a joke - stick with channels 2 and 4. Call the station and tell them your thoughts.
