Pitt had 4 official visitors from Florida this week, and if my information is right, three of them committed. The one who didn’t, DT Clyde Pinder, just tweeted that he will announce his college choice this week.
Pinder has played his recruitment pretty close to the vest. Pitt is his only official visit, but he attended the football camp at UNC two weeks ago (even though he already had an offer) and tweeted very favorably about it. He hasn’t really mentioned other schools very much, so it would appear that Pitt and UNC are the leaders here. However, USF is the hometown school and close-by UCF can’t be counted out due to its great success on the field.
With recent trips to both Pitt and UNC, the question is which school most impressed him. And, did either impress him enough to make him want to leave the Tampa area. This one might be worth the coaches making an in-home visit this week if this isn’t a quiet period.
He is from Tampa, so I don’t think our recruits from the Miami area will have a lot of sway over him. Too bad Greg Romeus is still traveling the world. He is from Tampa, albeit a different HS. Pinder attends Armwood-Seffner, a regular powerhouse in the Tampa area.
