Pitt’s Chancellor’s Leadership Team

One note. This isn't the BOT leadership team, it's the Chancellor's leadership team. And yes, there are two Penn State alums (including the CFO) on the Chancellor's Leadership Team, and no Pitt alums. Just sad. What other school would do that? Penn State's CFO went to... you guessed it.... Penn State.

I made that change. Thank u.

What has Gallagher accomplished? We lost out on property in Oakland, the city still disrespects Pitt, and the athletics have become a laughingstock.

Rich Fitzgerald and his 20 kids are nitters. Peduto tweets his love during every nitwit game. And as mentioned the COO & CEO are nitwits as well

The deck is really stacked against us here.

It is pathetic. No wonder Pitt can't get out of it's own way, it's by design.

Every once in a while I learn something on this board?
With all the brillant Pitt people out there Pitt hires Nitters?
Ok if you want some mix on the BOT's hire a Cuse or Virginia or Wisconsin or Ohio St but a PSU grad???
Absolutely terrible!
Why would a PSU grad want to help Pitt do anything when on the weekends they pack up and go to Crappy Valley to hold hands with the other cultists?
Maybe they had alot to do with the Stalling hire and stonewalling Pitt football progress!
This is plain and simple terrible!

It is bad enough if you have 1, but 2 out of the 8 are Nitters.

I think the basic issue is that universities have largely become havens for idiots. Pitt was a great school until recently and even now is far better than most. Pitt grads largely move on to be high producers in society. The last place they want to go is back to academia. PSU is more like a cult of academia. The totality of the self identification of too many grads is all-PSU all the time. I'm from a PSU family. I know what I speak of. There are only so many jobs at PSU and they can only create so many branch campuses. They are left to plug into other institutions to get their fix. Pitt folks are just too busy in the real world. Sadly, these whack-jobs will turn Pitt into another PSU-esque crap hole.

You guys have it wrong. I know Art Ramicone and while he may have gone to PSU he is good for Pitt. Been on the job at Pitt forever. Used to sit in the Club section behind the visiting team and he buys those tix on his own, they were not given to him. You people are eating your own over a bad point in Pitt sports. Geez...

Yeah, I'm not gonna hate on the leadership team based on where they went to school. Some of the biggest Pitt fans I know didn't go to Pitt, and few even have UPS degrees.

That's what the fake Pitt fans do. All they want is for everyone to be fired. I bet they would cry every night if their work places fired people daily.

I do not agree with this kind of thinking. Either the result is there or it isn't. You say he's good for Pitt and he's been on the job forever. But the bottom line is, the results have sucked. So I can clearly say, he's part of the problem, not the solution.

Let me say this clearly. I don't want any Nit to be part of Pitt! Screw that. For Pitt to allow this to happen is disgusting. I would bet my last dollar that the Nits have zero Pitt guys.

Pitt is a bunch of elitists. A good 'ole boy network if you will. They want this gravy train to continue....it literally doesn't matter what the actual results are on the field.

the other guy Scott, I know is still a huge nitter fan.

I think it is good for Pitt to bring in outside voices from quality, respected institutions to get their perspective. PSU is not a quality institution. I don't want to be associated with them in any manner. They are a fraud and disgrace in every context. There should be a good mix of Pitt folks and others.

You simply cannot have people like this on your Leadership Team. There is no way you have 2 Auburn guys on the Alabama Leadership Team, or 2 Michigan men on the Ohio State Leadership Team. This type of thing only happens at Pitt. There are only 8 people on this team, and 2 of them are Nitters. Ridiculous!

That's it, results stink, don't give a damn if he went to CCAC, if results were better, then all good!

25% of the University of Pittsburgh's Chancellor's Leadership Team is made up of Pennsylvania State University graduates... but nothing is wrong. Hmmm...

Yeah, imagine for a moment if Ohio State's leadership team had 2 Michigan alums and ZERO OSU alums.

Can't image it? Neither can I.

Edit: I checked. OSU has 4 OSU alums on their leadership team, and zero Michigan alums. Ironically, they have more Pitt alums on their leadership team then does Pitt.

Edit 2: Michigan's leadership team.... 6 Michigan alums. 0 OSU alums.

It's actually worse that the pic you painted.

It's Gallagher on the Pitt side.
It's Lyke on the Pitt side.

There are 4 people disinterested or not connected to Pitt football or basketball
There are 2 PSU Nitters

So do the math 2 for Pitt and 6 for who knows what!

This is amazing !

It is mind boggling that the leadership at Pitt would be set up this way. Unbelievable actually.

On a related note, I read a story on ESPN where Chip Kelly is being courted by UCLA with Troy Aikman being the pitch man and pushing him to take the job. I guess Aikman is on the search committee.

I generally ignore these coaching searches because there is so much misinformation. I know Pitt uses a search committee as well but when is the last time they had one of their famous alums front and center pushing the job? Ever happened?

Our Admin commitment is a joke.

Pitt has been burned numerous times with these Search Firms. It is a complete con job, and these idiots at Pitt keep falling into the same trap. Pitt has a lot of great football players that have been successful in football and in life. Pitt should have used them as part of their search committee, like UCLA is doing.

This is one of the most embarrassing threads I've seen on this board.

If you guys think not having a Pitt alum in a position like "Vice Chancellor for Development and Alumni Relations for the Medical and Health Science Foundation" is holding Pitt football back, you need to take a break from message board and recalibrate.

Finally, you all do realize that this "team" is simply a collection of the highest ranking officials on the University org chart? They are on the "team" simply by virtue of holding the top job for given University departments (Provost/Academia, Legal, Finance, Medicine, Tech, etc.)

You cant get burned by a Search Firm unless you dont do your own work and review the candidates they present.

I've dealt with search firms over my 40 + year career to many times to count.

To make this simple what they do is identify, screen, and present an entity with a number candidates including extensive background information for a specified job.

For example Pitt would have the search committee review the candidates and the information presented for each candidate and make a hiring decision. If they dont't like the candidates presented you ask the search firm to keep searching.

It wasn't Barnes or the search firm who botched the Stallings hire it was the Pitt committee who made the hiring decision!

This is why I say the Stalling hire was intentional to reduce athletic dept costs in hope that he could have decent performance?

He was hired a year ago. He attended and worked for Penn State. He also grew up in that area.

For sure - they were trying to cut costs and liked that he coached at a well respected school like Vandy. It had good optics to them, but were fools to think basketball fans would approve.

What point do you think you're making by linking me to that?

A guy who has nothing to do with Athletics went to PSU. Who cares?

You think he is secretly sabotaging his employer so that a football team he likes can win a game every few years? Would you risk your career to screw over PSU football?

Call it whatever you want, but I have to question either the intentions or the intelligence of those who agreed to hire Stallings, especially after bailing him out of a job he was about to get the boot from. It's unbelievable, really. Barnes somehow wrapped that s*** sandwich and covered it with colorful sprinkles, and convinced Pitt to pull the trigger.

What point do you think you're making? It sounds like you're complaining for no reason.

Do you contend that Pitt football would be better off if the CIO went to Pitt for undergrad? If so, explain. If not, what is the point of your post? Other than to complain about something completely irrelevant.

Find another university that has several alums from their rival on the University Leadership Team while also having ZERO of their on alums in that group of high level administrators.

I think this is part of the problem with Pitt. Alums are "embarrassed" over the DISCUSSION of this topic, instead of being embarrassed over the actual reality.
