Pitt - 2...... UVA - 0

Also, this is another indication of just how tough it is/will be for the men to move up in the ACC. Virginia was ranked 7th in the coaches poll this week and they had an RPI of 4. Yet they were only the 6th seed in the ACC tournament.

Duke is up next. They are the 3rd seed. They were ranked 8th with an RPI of 6. Pull out a win there and we get (probably) North Carolina, who is 4 and 3. Make it all the way to the championship game and get Wake Forest, who is number 1 and number 1.

It also shows that you only need to get better by a little bit to become part of the conversation, especially with a conference as good as the ACC. It won't be easy, but a few more wins and you are an NCAA team.

Can a team with a losing record make the NCAAT?

If we beat Duke and UNC but lose in the ACCCG, we would be 10-11 with an RPI around 30 and having 10 losses vs NCAAT teams. I mean, is there a rule that prohibits sub .500 teams from making it because RPI-wise, we'd normally be a lock with an RPI in the 30's but the losing record would be a huge knock against us
