PITT Basketball Helps Both PITT Basketball & Football Recruiting

A winning PITT basketball program obviously helps basketball recruiting but it's great for football recruiting as well. I remember when they announced Lumpy Chris Jacobsen at a basketball game as a potential PITT football commit and I think the kid commited the next day. PITT football invited lots of recruits to basketball games in the day when it was almost a sure thing that PITT basketball would win at home.
The ZOO was crazy loud, and the place was packed screaming students and crazy PITT fans.This made for a great recruiting atmosphere for both basketball and football.
Lets say Narduzzi & Dixon invited a bunch of recruits plus parents to the NC State game I think they'd leave with a completely different impression of PITT sports.
Not sure how much this hurts recruiting but its another reason to things back on track quickly.
Does Narduzzi invite football recruits to the basketball games?

That never happened, as announcing a potential recruit at a basketball game would be an obvious NCAA violation.

Does Narduzzi invite football recruits to the basketball games?

There were a couple dozen recruits at the Boston College game last Saturday. There is always one big recruiting weekend for the current class and then after LOI day another big recruiting weekend for next year's kids. With the kind of goofy schedule we got from the ACC this year, my guess is that weekend will be the weekend of the Virginia game.

The lumpy thing did happen. It wasn't a formal announcement by PITT the Zoo / crowd started to chant Lumpy, Lumpy in a spontaneous way. I wasn't there but was told this from a reliable source who was there. It was even mentioned on this site way back when it happened.
