Diallo- Pitt, Iowa State, Kansas, 3 team race. Kentucky and St. Johns are out.

Marcus Lovett, but does he qualify? Illinois, Pitt, but maybe others come in late. Still hasn't taken the act to even qualify. Could be two team battle. Dixon been at Morgan multiple times now. This kid is good and has the "it" factor.

Thorne-Rumor is Illinois bound. Kansas involved but they have no scholarships unless they get multiple draft entrants which could happen. Pitt interested.

Rafael Maia- Already talked with Rice, Boston College, and Pitt

Michael Edwards-Pitt , Marquette, Auburn

Chris Boucher- Pitt, Memphis, Minnesota, Ok. State, TCU, Texas Tech, Washington State

Maverick Rowan-Rumor could reclassify to 2015, but doubtful. Doubtful he comes to Pitt.

Benji Bell- Pitt, Florida State, Xavier, Memphis, Oregon, others. If Xavier is interested in a guard, Pitt should be all over him.

A bunch of centers, 1 guard that might not qualify, 1 guard that needs to reclassify and qualify, and 1 guard no one knows the interest level who just won the JC National Title and was POY and POY of the playoffs and National title game. Could Pitt take 3 centers in this class with all these offers? Looks like Mike Young to PF and Artis to the 3 with all this center recruitment.

Pitt needs a roster overhaul. 2 already gone, Newkirk, Luther, someone else may be out too.

Let's take a stab, who does Pitt get? Or someone else or no one.

Quite possible, if not likely even, that none of those guys end up at Pitt.

I sure hope hiure wrong about Newk and Luther. We will need them both. We only have two true ballhandling guards on this team and Newk is one of them. Luther is better than several of these late run bigs that we're after, like Edwards from Michigan. Not sure how Luther went from our "best post defender" early in the season per Dixon to a paperweight, but I think he looks like a player with some skills that translate at this level and I think he will be an impact player for us. Also, I believe Beilein is about to offer Edwards, who goes to a big UM football feeder school 15 miles up the road from Ann Arbor. Michigan is desperate for some big bodies and word is Edwaefs has been waiting on that offer all year. That's why he's still unsigned.

I would be very surprised if Thorne ended up with us.

Diallo, not so much.

Diallo's the big prize. It would be HUGE if we could get him. Throw in a guard like Bell and we might be on to something.

But I've seen this movie one too many times as a Pitt fan to be optimistic amd excited about landing a big time player.

I'd really like to see Pitt get Lovett. That kid could be really special especially in an offense with young, artis, and heron.

I'd like to see them get a big man transfer if at all possible. We can never have too much depth there.

If Diallo comes, great, but im not expecting him to add wins to our record alone. I feel like he's a 15 min a game guy who can rebound and defend the paint but probably not much else his freshman year. If he stays two years then jackpot he was a great pickup. I just don't expect a huge impact from him in 1 year though.

If the Rowan whispers are true that would be huge for Pitt. What a weird recruitment though. Seems like he may want to play here but his dad is controlling the recruitment. You have to worry about kids like that even if they come do they stay or leave as soon as everything doesnt go their way.

I would love to see us do well in this period, in the past few years we have not done well at all. I hope that changes. Some good talent left that could really help. As DT said, time will tell but I am not counting on anything at this point.

Would it be a guarantee that Diallo is a one and done? I mean, I know it is Pitt, and it seems if an athlete has a chance to leave here, they do it on the first bus out......but when you watch these games, you see the value of guys in that position to stay a couple of years and develop and learn to be "the man" so to speak. Staying 4 years certainly didn't hurt Martezl Harrell or Rakeem Christmas or Frank Kaminsky.

Lovett not having taken the ACT tells you more than you need to know about his academic qualifications. Pitt needs two guards and a big unless Durad Johnson ball handling skills have improved. We haven't really seen him play for two years a lot of time to improve your handle.

I don't think he should be but:

1) The 2015 class is regarded as exceedingly weak at the HS level, while the 2016 and 2017 classes are regarded as loaded.

2) As you said, it's Pitt so a kid jumping ship before he's totally ready comes with the territory.

We saw it with Adams, although, he lucked into an incredibly favorable situation and seems like he'll have a long and prosperous NBA career.

Well, another guard off the board that isn't going to Pitt. Not Shocking.

Florida State adds another good guard. The Noles now have 3 Top 100 guards plus Bell, including two in the Top 40. 4 ranked quality guards in one class for Florida State of all schools.

So now that leaves Lovett and Rowan, unless some unheard of player comes out of nowhere. And we need both of them.

Once again, no guards or any type of guard talent that can shoot coming to Pitt as of now.

Once again, what are we doing with trying to get guards ? Someone tell me what Im missing and why we don't recruit guards outside Heron.

Yeah those guys have developed all the way into being mid first round picks. If Diallo or anyone is getting top half of the lottery projection they are gone and they should be.
