Pitt's doing a blood drive today in honor of Lucas Goeller today at the Pete from 12-7. You've probably heard about him on the news, but Lucas Goeller was in desperate need of a liver transplant after being diagnosed with end stage liver disease. He recently received it from a 3 year old donor that passed away from brain cancer.
Pittsburgh is one of the few cities that has to bring extra donor blood into the city since our medical system has more blood recipients than donors. If you're in Oakland today, it would be worthwhile to stop over and donate.
Pitt athletes will be on hand and there will be drawings for Pitt merchandise for donors as well.
