So, college coaches aren't really allowed to make in-school visits right now with 2018 prospects in the same capacity that they are with the current senior group that's getting ready to sign. That doesn't mean that they're not still being diligent and checking in on and many of their top targets. They can't sit down and speak at length with current 2018 prospects, but they can meet with coaches and if a kid should happen to accidentally wander by an athletic office based on pure chance he is allowed to "bump into" a coach via the infamous Bump Rule and chat for a few moments and say hello.

Pitt made sure to send a pair of assistants in defensive line coach Tom Sims and offensive line coach/Dayton area recruiter John Peterson to Huber Heights (Ohio) Wayne high school to check in on 2018 defensive end Alex Reigelsperger.

Alex has kind of been all over the map lately, with new offers pouring in from schools like Duke, Wisconsin, Iowa, and WVU and interest coming from the likes of Notre Dame, Penn State, and Michigan State, among many others. I've posted before that I think people are kind of overlooking Pitt's chances with the kid, because I think they're in a great spot despite how wide open his recruitment has been.

Reigelsperger didn't chat too much with Sims or Peterson today, just a quick hello and how are you's, stuff like that. Didn't want to get in trouble with the good ole N-C-two-A. Still, he said it was a pleasant surprise to see them come by the high school and to know that they were checking up on him and keeping him in consideration.

While Sims and Peterson both have positive relationships with Alex, he told me that it's Narduzzi that's his main guy. They still message back and forth frequently and he's working on setting up a visit to come to Pitt in February. February 11th is an ACT date for him, so if the junior day proves to fall then, it's going to be an issue, but he's still trying to schedule a visit regardless. Narduzzi has really impressed Alex, his coaches, and his family.

Don't be surprised if Pitt continues to be a top contender for Alex in the coming months regardless of any other offers that come in. Narduzzi and Sims have the Panthers right there with anybody else in the country for a defensive end that they like a whole lot and he's very high on Pitt.
