Looks almost like a capacity crowd.

But down 3-0 after the first.

OBSERVATIONS from attending the game .......

- Clemson scored the only runs of the game in the top of the 1st ..... a walk, ground ball single to RF, and another walk loaded the bases with no outs ...... Hess made a great play on a hard grounder down the 1st base line to get the batter at 1st, a run scored .... then a pop out to 2B made it 2 outs with runners on 2nd and 3rd ..... the next batter fisted a pitch into shallow CF for a single and 2 more runs scored for Clemson ..... I thought our 2nd baseman should have made the play.... Zeuch pitched really well through the 8th inning after the rocky 1st .... his fastball was 88-92 mph and he has a pretty good curve and changes speeds pretty well ..... he gets behind hitters a little too much.

- Danielczyk got Clemson out without a score in the 9th ..... his fastball was 80-81 mph and curve about 68-70 mph ..... he is effective because of his underhand motion and his pitches have good movement on them .... in, out, down , and he changes speeds well.

- The Clemson pitcher was good ..... 92-93 mph fastball in the 1st inning ..... 94-95 mph in the 2nd inning ..... and he was still throwing 95 mph in the 9th inning ..... he had a good curve and occasional off speed pitch also.

- WE CAN'T HIT ....our hitting is atrocious !

- Our fielding is below average .... our outfield is OK but our infield is not as good as the teams we have played that I have witnessed.

- Our weekend pitching is good.

- Attendance was good = 986 ..... CALL THE CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, we need to expand the stadium !

- Good weather ..... sunny and mid 60's.

- A lot of Clemson fans at the game but may have looked like more then there actually were because there was a Pittsburgh youth baseball team, the Outlaws, that were in orange uniforms that may have looked like Clemson fans .... there were a lot of youth baseball kids at the game.

- Some good looking girls at the game ..... both from Pitt and Clemson.

- Game 3 tomorrow at noon.

110% capacity. Something to build on for sure. Hopefully we see more and more of those numbers.

Re: OBSERVATIONS from attending the game .......

They set up a BBQ pit (the "BBQ Pitt" it was called) which was a grill out in left field.

They also advertised that kids could have their birthday parties at a Pitt baseball game.

They again had in game contests.

I know the Pitt law alumni association is having an event at one of the Maryland games.

These are all little things, but I just felt like this was an actual big time athletic event, as opposed to a sparsely attended game which the school cared little about. Baby steps I guess.

Yeah, it seems like they are trying to make the games enjoyable to attend and the attendance is definitely better this season ..... but I wish the crowd was a little more boisterous, it's too quiet .... like you are at a golf tournament and the players are putting.

I think that before they ever add seats, they should build a wall behind the bleachers so it looks more like a stadium than just a "field." The place is bare-bones but light years better than what they had before.

I also dont understand why, before pouring all that concrete, they couldnt have built a tunnel to take the players from the locker rooms to the dugout and from the locker rooms to the field for soccer. Doesnt seem like it would have cost that much more money.
