Note that Pitt can stillget a Tier 1 bowl if NONE of this happens. But if ALL of it happens, the bowls would have no choice:

Pitt beats Syracuse

Boston College wins at Wake Forest. BC needs it for a bowl.

Clemson wins its last 2. 2 ACC NY6 reps helps Pitt's Tier 1 chances greatly.

The Big Ten gets the Orange Bowl meaning the ACC goes to the Citrus. There are a few scenarios where the SEC can get the Orange Bowl but its unlikely. The best scenario I can think of for the SEC getting the Orange Bowl is this:

Auburn beats Alabama
Florida beats FSU and Alabama
Penn State loses to Michigan State

Florida would go to CFP, Auburn and Alabama to Orange and Sugar Bowls. This scenario is extremely unlikely but with all this talk of an 11-2 BT champ going to the CFP, people are forgetting that Florida is also 2 wins away and easily go over the BR champ.

For Pitt, the most important result is Clemson winning the next 2. If they do, they are in the CFP, Louisville in the Orange and every ACC team moves up. Here's what I say right now:

Fiesta: Clemson

Orange: Louisville

Citrus: FSU

Russell Athletic: VT vs WVU

Tier 1
TaxSlayer: Miami
Belk: UNC
Pinstripe: Pitt
Sun: GT

I think we can all agree that if Pitt does get a Tier 1 bowl, we hope its not the Sun Bowl. Its a good second-rate bowl game with a lot of history and prestige but very few Pitt fans would go.

Interestingly, the ACC may not fill 3 bowls. NCSU and BC go for bowl eligibility on Saturday but both are underdogs. Wake may be the only Tier 2 team.

The Russell Athletics reps were at the Pitt game yesterday I think I read in the trib. Maybe we have a shot at that bowl?

Please not the Sun. I still have nightmares about the last game we played there. Not to mention that El Paso isn't the most exciting destination I can think of.

Given last night's result, there's a VERY good chance West Virginia goes to the Russell Athletics (Tangerine) Bowl as the Big XII rep. (Oklahoma to the Sugar, Oklahoma State to the Alamo, WVU to the Tangerine)

Have to figure that if they get WVU, the Tangerine would look for VT or Pittsburgh on the ACC side.

Of course, VT could be playing in Orlando even earlier in the ACC Championship game. Given that dynamic, the Tangerine may prefer Pittsburgh. VT probably wouldn't travel overly well to the same venue, twice in the same month.

I forgot that VT would be playing in Orlando twice in 25 days. I still think they would travel more than Pitt but with the 2nd Orlando date, maybe not that many more.

It may be a Pitt vs Miami call for the RA folks. UNC was there last year and VT was there 25 days ago.
