Its estimated that the exit fee + GOR settlement/buy back will cost $500 million per team. FSU, Miami, Clemson, UNC leave. That's $2 billion. Divided by the 10 remaining schools. $200 million for us.

Grant of Rights Stadium

The nicest stadium in the new Big East

No one has deserted a GOR with 13 years left.
Dude, this is uncharted territory, due to unfathomable money. It's absurd that you think that any school will profit from another school leaving.

And get used to it: schools are going to desert a GOR with 13 years left. In fact, multiple schools will, including us, once it happens.

pitt needs to put all this money into volleyball. yeah, we have a new arena being built but need to use that for NIL money for the women's volleyball team.

Yeah, I’d rather spend the money on NIL and pump basketball to a natty, rather than a new football stadium for an 8-4 team.

Ironically we’ll be dropping football.

So it sounds exactly like something our braintrusts would do with the money

Hm reading more carefully and taking into account who posted, he might mean that Pitt would build a on campus SOCCER stadium. Not football. Which would ABSOLUTELY make sense given Pitt’s proclivities.

No need to pump money into the basketball program to win a National Championship, it can be done right now, THIS YEAR. All Pitt has to do is to ask the players on the Men's Basketball team, to publicly announce that they are "transitioning" to the female gender. Then represent the University of Pittsburgh as the Women's Basketball team in the ACC and in the 2024 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament that will end up with them playing in Cleveland, Ohio in April of 2024 for the National Championship.

I know you're kidding, but I love how so many people have suggested forgetting about football and just going all in on basketball... as if the schools bringing in $100M/year in football don't have a spending advantage on us for basketball, too.

Sure,

Lets build a new stadium for big east caliber football

The empty seats that have cursed us at HF will follow us to GOR stadium.

Obviously I am kidding, OR am I? Do you think the Pitt Men's BB team can play the Pitt Women's BB schedule this year and win probably all of them? I do. II also genuinely believe that they would win the NCAA Championship as well. Let's give the country wants it seems to want now. Pitt wold be ALL OVER every major news network and even the douches at espn would be forced to cover it. PITT all day long on tv and the internet as well.
Then after they complete the run, we all celebrate the 1st Pitt Women's BB National Championship team and then allow the young men to retransition back to being males.

I do think someone should try this.

A decent HS boys team would beat any women's college BB team.

Yes but not Pitt, they are a legit program. Like have Central Connecticut State do it.
Not saying that Pitt Men's program isn't legit, but it would be the odds on favorite to win the Women's National Championship. Plus the uproar around the country from them doing so would be so much fun.
