Yes, sir! We made the big time along with heavy weights like Xavier and Cinci!

Well Del, this is where I have to part ways with your "schtick."

Why mock this? Why offer an attitude? No one is anywhere near convinced that we are a great team. Most aren't even convinced we are a top 25 team. I know I'm not.

But for the moment, enough people are convinced that we are among the top 25 in the country that we can be found on that list.

Everyone also realizes that our sights are set higher. Everyone is also well aware that we were once used to being regularly being among the top 15, or even much higher than that.

Nonetheless, over the last few years, our appearances in the top 25 have not been frequent. Last year, we never sniffed it. And here we are, before the end of the year, we've at least found ourselves there.

So again, why mock this? I get it if you don't want to celebrate it. I'd even kind of agree with that. But I certainly wouldn't want to mock it.

I'm mocking the OP, nothing more and nothing less. This goes back to a chat he and I had a few days ago. I agree with what you say here.

I can't see mocking Cincy, and Xavier. Cincy has a better pedigree than us by any measure, and Xavier has been at about the same level as Pitt over the last 15 years. We met them twice in March, and they sent us home one of those times.

OK -- fair enough.
He said he was mocking the OP, but he replied to me. Of course, in my post I was mocking him (who whoever), who a few days ago argued that it was important to be on that ridiculous scroll.

Del, a big Thx to the Pirates organization and nutting for the Pierogie race....lmao
Yea, I saw that...my nephew spotted those costumed buffoons in the tunnel and brought them to my attention before they came on the field....Nutting marketing...anything but the product on the field.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing.
Should they be better in hoops than Pitt given the relaticve "assets" the 3 schools have had at their disposal the last decade as regards building/maintaining a BB program? Old Big East, AAC,, $hit BB conferences, yet they have managed to at least stay neck and neck for the most part with Pitt, and the last 4 years have been better, Pitt's just done a poor job since the Butler game, really poor!

Okay. Should Xavier be better and more successful than UCLA or Indiana over the past 10 years? Don't demean "should" because the same argument you just made for Pitt can be made for Northwestern, for Boston College, for Washington or Wazzou State, for Wake Forest, etc...

By including BC in your example, you are really scraping the bottom of the barrel... at least as far as P5 conferences, as well as many of the mid-major conferences, are concerned. They are currently at 185 in Pomeroy, up from over 200.

Gives us a cupcake game after our games at ND and Ville... and that should be a welcome break.

Nothing tops Pitt selling t-shirts for the team being ranked number 1 in a regular season poll. Great accomplishment, but t-shirts? C'mon.
