Highlight of the matchup was Wentzel beating #16 Ebed Jarrell 9-5.

Correct me if I have this count wrong, but I believe that is Wentzel's 4th top 20 win on the season. Im really rooting for him. He has a ton of talent and seems to be finally putting it together.

Agreed persp, think Jake is putting it together too. Wrestling with experience and more confidence now, really good to see.

Team wise we are light years ahead of where we were 2-3 years ago. The last two matches we would have struggled thru, this year it has been a Pitt clinic. H2P

It's only going to get better, this is Pitt's best program at this point. they are in a tough conference and getting some early experience. Hopefully some AA's this season.

Could take a small step back next year though. Will like be weaker at 157, 197, and Hwt.

The low weights should be very strong though

He didnt get any at MSU. He lost in the semis to an unranked guy from Illinois then took a medical forfeit in the consi semis against Smith of tOSU

My bad. He did indeed medical forfeit in the semis as well.

Anyone know why?

Probably just didnt want to push his knee to hard the 1st time out after his injury would be my guess. He won 3 they saw what they needed to see and shut him down happens alot at those early season tournaments
