Another example, why Coach Pat Narduzzi is a Players Coach First & Foremost and puts his Player's Health ahead of all things. Pitt is still the better Team than Penn State and WVU and Coach Pat is a far better coach than Franklin or Holgrosen. Franklin has played his Players hurt so desperate to win. Holgrosen is a better OC than head Coach! I am confident that as seen how close his Games are won or lost unlike at PSU or WVU!

I do not know how to fix the Defense and no longer do analysis. I am of the opinion, Narduzzi just has to toughen it out to keep his Safeties stuffing the Run and until he coaches the Cornerback's to execute their coverage's better and start to break up those passes, that have been close by seconds and just missing them. Or find better talent to handle the position.

Therefore, I hope others weigh in like Poster Safety Blitz did yesterday, with appreciation. As I see it, the Panther-Lair Posters are not afraid of criticism and good discussions on football. The BWI Posters now put Pitt Post up every day and that tells you something too.

EXCERPTS:
“I thought about putting Maddox out there,” Narduzzi said, “but I didn't want to do that to him. I don't think he's 100 percent. I don't think that's fair to throw him out there like that.”...........Next up is a trip Saturday to Miami, where quarterback Brad Kaaya, who is averaging 242.3 passing yards, could present further problems.............By that time, Narduzzi must find a suitable combination of defensive backs to shore up the team's weakest link for the final third of the season. Based on the fact he was given a helmet Thursday, Maddox could heal in time, which might be a step toward fixing the problem.

Senior Ryan Lewis has started every game at cornerback with mixed results. Seven weeks ago, his interception saved the Penn State game, and he is second on the team with five pass breakups.
Anything can happen this week with Hamlin competing for playing time against Lewis, Jackson and Motley, if healthy.

Critics might question Narduzzi deciding to burn Hamlin's redshirt, considering there are only four games left in the regular season. Typically, it makes sense to let a freshman sit, watch and learn so he would have four years of eligibility remaining. Winning programs often get that way by playing several fourth-year juniors and fifth-year seniors. But with Hamlin healthy, he might prove to be at least as good as the older players ahead of him on the depth chart. Circumstances demand Hamlin's future starts now. “With our corner situation, we need him out there,” Narduzzi said..................“Damar was ready to go, and he wanted to go,” Narduzzi said. “That's the thing you love about him. He said, ‘Coach, I want to go.' Good for him.” Hamlin steps into Narduzzi's difficult and risky defensive scheme that puts lots of reliance on a cornerback's one-on-one coverage skills.Narduzzi refuses to change his philosophy and allow safeties Jordan Whitehead and Terrish Webb to give cornerbacks more help. He wants safeties focusing on run defense.

“I feel like corners have the toughest position on the field,” Hamlin said. “I knew what it was coming in here. That's why I came here.“It's pretty tough, but that's why we play the game. That's what we're here for. “Now, I know where I'm rusty and what I have to work on. I really can't wait to play again.”.........
