Thought it was maybe as good as it's been all season. There was effort and intensity. Good fundamentals and help. The guys were moving their feet; staying in front of dribblers very well for the most part. Hands in the passing lanes. Shots contested. Nothing came easy for the Dukies today and it looked like it got to them.
Rebounding-wise a real good effort by Pitt, too. Good boxing out on the defensive end. Nice aggression and pounding on the offensive glass.
Offensively Pitt attacked the Duke D with purpose and got good looks. Then they knocked down a very good number of them. If it hadn't been for a couple of scrums on the off. boards where Pitt failed to convert after several attempts, the FG %age would've been phenomenal (instead of just very good like it was).
When Pitt has that number of guys producing and executing at a high level on both ends like they did today, they can be a very good team and real tough to beat. Just about everyone that played today for Pitt was a positive contributor in some way. There was no Pitt player that Duke really was able to exploit or expose to a significant degree.
This would be an excellent time for this team to string a bunch of games like this together. Games where a lot of guys are clicking and playing at, or very close to, their best. They are capable of doing it. Now it's up to them to go out and do it.
