I have no illusions that rebuilding the Pitt Football Program into a Top 25 Program will not be done in two season or 21 games, such as coming up short again. Yet, I do have great confidence that Coach Pat Narduzzi and Staff will prevail in accomplisihing that goal. Once again coming up short barley missing coverage's and tackling is still present too much on Defense, but improving by making plays. There are bigger, after, and better Players in the Pipeline and the ones learning by burning and missing and Coaches made no excuses for the Players or themselves. It was another Heart Breaking Lost but unlike years before under Harris, Wannstedt, Graham and Chryst, I was not Heartbroken whatsoever, and in the Preseason saw this as another Toss-Up Game and it was exactly that like most as i expected in 2016. Bring on Miami and Clemson!
EXCERPTS;
....“Like they got the wind knocked out of you,” he said after Pitt's 39-36 loss to Virginia Tech. “The big thing is we left a lot of plays out there. One-on-one matchups. Little things with scheme. Just doing your job. “So many plays I can think of.”.....Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi was frustrated by the loss, and by some calls — or non-calls — from the officials. “I thought the coverage was real good,” he said. “I thought there were some things that were one-sided that irked me. “We had guys in position to make plays and we didn't make them. “Give the quarterback some credit. He put some balls out there. (Receivers) did a great job of pushing off all night. “Give them credit for that.”........... Pitt's sluggish start — a fumble and Peterman's first interception in his past 84 attempts — cost the Panthers only a 6-0 deficit in the first quarter.
