With several NFL scouts in attendance, including Tom Donahoe of the Philadelphia Eagles and Luke Palko of the Arizona Cardinals, Conner was at his best for most of the 39-36 loss. He recorded runs of 37, 40 and 23 yards to finish with a season-high 141 and three touchdowns.

Almost unnoticed was Conner moving past Curvin Richards and Ray Graham into second place on Pitt's all-time rushing list with 3,313 yards. Tony Dorsett is unreachable at 6,526.

Conner's rushing totals have improved in each of the past three games from a low of 34 against Marshall to 60 in the Georgia Tech game and 90 at Virginia. Yet he said he was not satisfied. “I've got to get faster and make people miss in open space,” he said. “I have to get a lot better.”

Conner, who has been at Pitt since 2013, could choose to leave next year with one season of eligibility remaining. Before Conner's cancer diagnosis, the NFL put a third-round grade on him when he was thinking about entering the 2016 draft....

At least Pitt can score
This season's Pitt team is the first in school history to lose three games while scoring at least 35 points (38, 36 and 36). The 2014 team almost did it, scoring 48, 35 and 34 in its final three defeats. Pitt has scored 36 or more in an FBS-leading and school-record seven consecutive games.

His combine numbers will
Be the biggest issue as well as the health concerns.

Got to love a player like Conner who (after all he's been through) keeps saying he needs to get better and then actually keeps getting better,
He may not be were he wants to be, but he will get there.

Pitt is blessed to attract such Players, and Player's are very happy they choose Pitt, and that is what makes Pitt Special, in my opinion. Right up there in Traditional Historic Gridiron Talent, Attitude, and Character with many Top 25 Programs. Noe need to take the steps to winning more, it will happen, but in the meantime, just another blessing being a Pitt Fan!
