Pitt football revenue questions

With Notre Dame showing an interest in wanting to play Clemson more often, and the ACC wanting Notre Dame to play Clemson, Florida State and Miami more often than currently scheduled to make the ACC television product more enticing to viewers, won't that require to have Notre Dame (Pitt's best ticket selling ACC opponent) facing Pitt less frequently?

With the ACC looking into giving Florida State and Clemson a bigger piece of the tv money in order to keep them semi-happy, won't that also mean a reduction for all the other non-marquee ACC schools?

From the below linked article:
ACC sources suggested a vote to support the new revenue distribution plan may not be unanimous, but one conference administrator said a cut in distribution would likely be worthwhile if it meant stability in the coming years as college athletics works its way through a volatile series of existential shifts in its amateurism model.

This is ESPN's doing. They want better matchups involving ACC teams for TV viewership reasons.

This was a condition for ESPN opting in to keep the ACC deal going past 2027.

ESPN wants to max out ND's and the ACC's viewership numbers by matching ND up with the "better brands" of the ACC, instead of a rotation with all.

I don't understand the need to give FSU and
Clemson anything. As soon as they can leave, they will
Assuming they're wanted. Right now, FSU is like seeing a $20 sticking out from under the mess in the bottom of a backed up, bus station toilet. You want it but you have to seriously question how badly and it won't buy you any happiness.

If you want to really stifle a laugh, take a look at ND's schedule for next year. At least Clemson and FSU are usually competitive opponents.

And their "punishment" for that schedule and not having to play a conference championship game is not getting a bye, but getting to host an 11 or 12 seed that barely limped into the tournament.

Ten P4 opponents, no FCS games, unlike many others.

Miami, Texas A&M, USC and five other mandated ACC opponents.

Only G5 teams are Navy (ND sticking by WW2 promise) and Boise State, a late addition to the schedule and a playoff team last year.

Tough crowd, here.

Every team with a pulse is at home, except for Miami. I'm insulting us, I guess, but it's almost a home game for them here anyhow. A&M is a fraud. Plus, no CCG. Yeah, not so tough. These guys get to have their cake and eat it too.

It's more that *on paper* they shouldn't be an underdog or really have a game with all that close of a point spread until the 2nd or 3rd round of the playoff, and I don't think that's cause they're some sort of unstoppable juggernaut. That sucks.

And they can go 10-2 against this schedule and make the playoff since they'll be ranked in the top 5 or so at the start of the season.

I'll give you some credit for scheduling Boise since that's a game you could actually lose without the perceived difficulty of the U or A&M, but you basically have a 4 game schedule (I'll add USC in as a potential challenge) and you need to split those games to make the postseason. That should be a breeze with the resources of ND football.
