Pitt football schedule, could be a bit tougher than I thought preseason

Penn State- Great Chance they run the table and finish 10-2, might be pushing a Top 10 ranking at that point

North Carolina- Great Chance they run the table and finish 10-2, probably will be in the Top 10 end of regular season

Virginia Tech- Great Chance they run the table, and finish 10-2, and might be close to the Top 10 at seasons end

Oklahoma State- 6-2 right now and lost that game to Central Michigan on a bad call. They probably run the table too, to finish 10-2, and would have been 11-1 had it not been for the bad call. They will move up the polls quickly now after crushing West Virginia.

-And Georgia Tech is 5-3 right now and even Villanova is 6-2. We could have possibly played the Big Ten Champion, Big 12 Champion, and Acc Coastal Champion. No excuses for losing, but we will have played more ranked teams at seasons end with Clemson coming then probably any other team in the country. 5 Possible Top 10 ranked teams at the end of regular season, crazy.

-This also looks like the 2nd year in a row our ooc non conference schedule happens to be light years ahead of everybody else the way things stand right now.

Tougher than you thought or they all have easier schedules than you thought?

Fair point that there are some good teams in there. But (for example) the Nitters aren't suddenly a top 10 team because of a couple blocked kicks and and easy remaining schedule

Ferentzs' Iowa and Dantonio's MSU still will be hard to beat! Narduzzi Had Them All The Way!

Fedora is a Great Coach! Barely got by Narduzzi!

Fuente Debut everything better than Beamer Ball! Narduzzi Came Up Short!

Gundy's Always Improves Them, Pitt Play Them Tough!

You are right but PSU has definitely improved since they played Pitt. I know Franklin is hated here but he has shown a lot of improvement this year as a coach. Could it be the people around him he hired? Possibly, but a lot of the disorganization I saw in the past has been eliminated. As I said here in the past I think it's a great thing both PA schools are looking good and play the next three years. If both teams keep improving the games we play can be pivotal the next 3 years.

-Down goes Navy, Boise state, Tennessee, Nebraska, West Virginia etc... I can't keep track of all the losses today. Penn state, UNC, V tech and OK state might all be in the top 20 next week. Some might crack the top 15. Just wait until the end of the season rankings if the 4 run the table. Does FSU hold on vs Clemson? Huge shakeup in the national rankings coming Monday, HUGE.

Your idea of who is good and who sucks changes week by week depending on the last thing you saw, that is absolutely the squarest way someone can look at it. Totally amateurish.

How many times have you changed your opinion on whether Oklahoma St is good or bad since the preseason, 3 or 4 times maybe?

If you want your opinions to garner more respect, try looking at the overall picture and not having such strong opinions after the results of one single game.

-On the Grand Scale I still dont think they are all that great. But I like the fact they are running over a weak ass Big 12 which is a colossal bust of a conference this year as is the Pac-12, for the perfect Washington setup. Id like to see a few of these teams jump on over to the ACC this year, they would get raked and the losses would pile on just like Notre Dame getting its ass beat by most ACC teams this year. And the Irish didnt even play the Top ACC teams. I think the ACC is far and away the best conference this year, Im not sure its even close at this point.

Washington will be very fortunate to get by USC in a couple weeks.

USC with a lot of talent and starting to put it together. Washington maybe one of those teams that peaked a little early.

Notre Dame is having a horrible season to be sure, but they're not that bad. A few weeks ago another poster said ND would be underdogs against every team but Army for the rest of the season. I replied that it was much more likely they would be favored in every game. And they probably will be except for the final at USC.

-Not that bad? Pitt lost to 3 teams that are about to be in the Top 15 ranked very soon, all with winning records, all with big wins.

-Notre Dame lost to Duke, a team without an ACC win and the worst team in the ACC with a 2nd string QB, lost to a 2-6 Michigan State team, lost to a .500 N.C. State team, lost to a Stanford team that has completely fallen apart after losing by 40 to Washington that is .500, and lost to a .500 Texas team. Their DC was fired, their fanbase is calling for Kelly's head and wants him fired, and they are having their worst season to date in over 50 years. They did beat Miami though, haha

But somehow people that are risking their careers by putting up lines on these games made ND favorites over Stanford and Miami. They will be favored over Navy next week as well. You realize that means something correct?

-Notre Dame is 3-5 against the Spread. Sounds like they need to hire smarter people to cover Notre Dame athletics.
ND has a huge fan base and people like to bet with them. That's a large factor in line setting; getting equal activity. It doesn't necessarily mean the sharps think ND is good.

I doubt they are favored against a VT team that will likely be 8-2 either...

Well, either that or you have approximately the same level of understanding of what goes on in Vegas as you do of most other subjects you post about here, which is to say very little.

-I couldnt really give a rats ass what the spread is. Notre Dame has folded like a cheap tent this season. Ill supply a perfect image if you cannot understand what I am saying.

Not how it works, for season futures bets sure, but on a game to game basis fan base matters much less than you think.

Sure there are "public" teams that get many more $20-$100 tickets on them, but the books don't care that much about public money in large efficient markets.

-The only real big surprise this year is Virginia Tech with Jerad Evans, whos had borderline Heisman numbers and came into the Virginia Tech program as a Juco QB. Virginia Tech's offense sucked last year. Between his throwing and running ability, he has single handily uturned their entire offense. What are the odds a first year juco QB comes in and has Heisman type numbers his first season.

-That is the difference in the ACC Coastal Race. He looks like Lamar Jackson light, the front runner to win the Heisman trophy. The ACC has the best QB's in the country by a landslide this year and it isnt even remotely close. This might be the best collection of QB's ever in the ACC in a single season. All of them will be in the draft next year, gutting the talent out. Good luck to all of them finding an equal replacement to what's playing right now. Ill take the ACC up against any conference this year. 4 of the best Top 10 QB's in the country play in the ACC, and if you want to throw Brad Kayaa in there, that's 5 of the Top 10 QB's in the country.
Every QB looks good against the PTT D. The Marshall QB looked good against PITT.

-You keep driving this point yet missing the nail by a mile. I said 8 wins + since the start and Im sticking with it until January when the bowls are over. What other teams do has no meaning on what I said. We lost 3 games in the 4th quarter, 2 in the last minute of the game. Take a look at the schedules of these teams, including Penn State, Oklahoma State, and Virginia Tech. We dont have Rutgers and Purdue and Kansas type pushovers flooded all over.

-There would be about 50 teams undefeated had they played West Virginia's schedule to date. They got raked by Oklahoma State. Inflated Top 10 ranking by beating noone.
No, you said 10 wins and after we beat PSU you pounded your chest about "being the only one" predicting 10 wins.

You lie and change your stance, so damn much.

-I know Im consistent, and I know I admit when Im wrong. October 15th, I said 8+ wins. September 24th, I said 8+ wins. I didnt go any further back in my post history because I have 2 documented posts saying exactly what I said previously. If I said outside chance of 9 or 10 and you mark that down as me saying 10 wins, thats a reading comprehension issue. 8+ means 8+, in simple language.

-We have 3 losses that have all come in the 4th quarter and we were tied or winning each of those games. Im inclined to believe if we could just change out Terrish Webb for Paris Ford right now, we are sitting at 7-1 instead of 5-3. We are getting very close to the next level, only a few players away to make 1 or 2 additional plays in a game to pile on the wins, dam we are close. We are desperate for another big time playmaker at safety.
Good to know all we need is a safety, and that we are solid at corner. because it sure doesn't look that way to me.

On a side note, I love how Lair posters like to count Pitt's close losses, and only Pitt's close losses.

-If we could swap out Webb with an Elite Safety it would make a world of difference.

Pitt will not have played the Big 10 Champion. That school in cow pasture land will not win the conference.
