Our defense, especially in the 1st Half, has been atrocious at times. I think the thought is Duke is guaranteed to put up a ton of points and we just cant score enough to hang. Hope this isnt correct.
No. It’s because Duke has legit talent and has been very consistent this year. They are also at home. FWIW, Duke is favored to win every home game even more than against Pitt the rest of the way. They are just that far and beyond the rest of ACC. As I said in another post, Pitt could lose by 30 tonight and still roll off 18-2/17-3 in conference. It is

Based on current NET ratings, this is Duke’s only shot for a Q1 home win. Pitt has zero Q1 home opportunities and 5 away opportunities including tonight.
I would take duke giving 14.5 Duke fans are still talking about revenge for Hinsen jumping on the table taunting the fans after last year's game. I can see Pitt getting their doors blown off tonight.
Last night Fanduel had 86% of the $ on Duke. Right now that's down to 59%. Heavy money coming in on Pitt.

I did actually forget about Blake jumping up on the scorers table and giving it to the fans. I'm sure they will use that as motivation. I hope they don't come out like Mississippi St. did. We need to be ready to battle physically and defend from the get go. Your team really gains nothing from a game where you are down 20 only 10 minutes or less into the game. I hope we defend the 3 ball, and let Cooper Flagg and the Big center score 2 point field goals. Probably most importantly, we need to take good shots and make them. If we take bad shots and let them get out on the break we will be buried before we know it.
If we start off as slowly as we did in the last couple games, we probably get our doors blown off. Duke is not the kind of team who will allow a big comeback from behind.

Yet the line hasn't moved, which probably means its just general public money on Pitt and not any wise guys. That ain't good.
I assume everybody in the conference would be double-digit under dog at Duke the rest of the way. It's fine, just play aggressively and move on regardless of the result.
The other thing is that there is no real way to know if that's actually "heavy money". I mean there could have been $50 total bet on the game and $43 of it was on Duke, but then the next $50 came in $34 on Pitt.
Btw Pitt Duke on espn while 1 Tennessee vs 8 Florida on espn 2. Everyone talks about the ACC getting hosed on tv well not tonight.
